Seen a #dyslexia mode in a Godot game and felt inspired to check how hard it is to swap fonts on the fly in Godot for my card game. A basic version is quite doable but likely not ideal (e.g. sizes & contrasts probably need tweaking). Suggestions welcome! #godot #gamedev #indiedev #accessibility

Sharing my (hobby) game dev journey here. Day job and background in Human-Computer Interaction. From Germany. Currently working on "Crumbling Crowns", a board building card game with a fantasy kingdom theme.
Just published a new update for my fantasy card drafting game "Crumbling Crowns". Feedback welcome! 😊 Play in the browser on itch: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
Working on some UI styling for the deck selection screen. 🃏✨ Feedback welcome! 😊 ...and you can play the game on itch (with the old UI for now): dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev
Working on more UI juice for my engine building card game: The score coins now leave trails when moving. 🌈🪙 And effect chains spawn trails between involved cards. Feedback welcome! 😊 Play on itch (old UI): dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev
Tip for nine patches in Godot: You can't change texture size without changing visual size, i.e. you can't increase "pixel density". Thus, my nine patches either looked blurry or borders where too big. Found this script to fix it: forum.godotengine.org/t/is-there-a... #godot #indiedev #gamedev
Is there any way to scale up a NinePatchRect (without actually scaling the node)?
Ran into the same problem and haven’t found anyone else with a better solution at the moment, so I decided to write something to solve this. Add a Container and add this script to it: @tool class_na...

More UI updates for my engine building fantasy card game, including new "score coin" visuals and sounds. 🪙✨ Feedback welcome! 😊 Play on itch (old UI): dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
WIP of a new "mini deck UI" to animate deck events in my card game. ✨ E.g. the clip shows shuffling and then adding a card on top. The top 3 cards are fanned out since they're next up in the draft. Feedback welcome! Play on itch (old UI): dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev
The last update to my card game added a basic score rating system: You earn stars ⭐ per deck, based on your achieved score. I'll expand on this in the future (e.g. unlocks)! Try it on itch and post your scores to help me with balancing: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev
There's now a "Tollgate" card in my board building card game but you can still play it for free in the browser here: 😀 dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... Let me know what you think and feel free to post your scores for the decks, so I can balance them better! ⭐🏰 #godot #gamedev #indiedev
New update with cards themed around a merchant guild, improved UI, and a very basic achievements system. 😀 Play it in the browser here: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... Let me know what you think and feel free to post your scores, so I can get a better feel for balance! ⭐ #godot #gamedev #indiedev
This week, I'm working on updating the card design in my game to improve readability. 🃏🧐 You can try the prototype on itch: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... Feedback appreciated! 🙂 #godot #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
Currently working on extending my fantasy kingdom card game, the result of my first game jam a few weeks ago! 🏰✨ Play the current version on itch here: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... Feedback appreciated, to guide my next update. 🙂 #godot #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
Here's my first game jam entry, a deck/board builder! Build a kingdom by pushing previously placed cards into ruin (jam theme was "unstable"). Play it on itch - I appreciate any feedback as I'm working on expanding it: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
I love working on UI/UX. 🤩 For my jam game "Crumbling Crowns", I created card tooltips to explain mechanics. My system inspects the hovered card to dynamically display relevant explainers. 🔎 📜 Feedback highly appreciated! Playable on itch: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev
Happy to share the result of my first game jam! It's a deck/board builder where you build a kingdom by pushing previously placed cards into ruin. 🏰👸 Play it in the browser on itch and let me know what you think, to inform my next update: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev
🔎 I'm looking for feedback on my deck/board builder, to expand it. It's the result of my first game jam! 🥳 You can play it on itch in the browser, a run takes just a few minutes: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... It also works with touch, but the text is small on phones. #godot #gamedev #indiedev
Just updated my first jam entry, a deck builder, with a post-jam update featuring new cards, an upgrade mechanic, a card compendium, simple highscore tracking, and bug fixes. You can play it on itch - appreciate any feedback and ideas: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev
I've recently used paper prototyping in my first game jam, to work on card mechanics. 📄🤔 I've written about my design process on itch, where you can also play the result. Appreciate any feedback, as I'm working on expanding it: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev #indiedev #design
New account for my game dev hobby, motivated by my first game jam recently. I'm looking for people to follow, e.g. folks working on card games, deck/engine builders, roguelikes. Where are you? 😄 Here's a screenshot of my jam entry, playable on itch: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev
Had a lot of fun with my first game jam! 🥳 I made "Crumbling Crowns", a board building game. You draft cards to a grid to build a kingdom, but new cards push old ones into ruin. 💫 It's on itch - appreciate any feedback, as I'm working on expanding it: dabudev.itch.io/crumbling-cr... #godot #gamedev
