"I'm just setting boundaries by publicly shaming this art acc where i don't approve of the content!" i hate to break it to you, but the boundary setting would be blocking, and not a public name and shame

Bought a commission today and the artist told me that I’d basically just paid their bills for the week so always remember that having artists draw porn of your favorite characters is a noble cause

I hope those load bearing followers know how much they mean to artists. Regulars, esp regular commenters that engage your work and story do not go without notice and are to be cherished. It's esp why I try to reply to let them know! (and why I wish I could keep track of any I've missed replying to )

Fun story and potential tip for artists: find a load boarding follower or two. When my account was brand new and less than 10 people knew I existed I had one follower who would like almost every piece I made. I appreciated his support so much that my partner knew his screenname- 🧵

sometimes ur not in a fandom but then wild shit goes down so it eventually ends up on ur TL one way or another, like when there's a brawl in your neighbors yard or smth n all u can do is just bear witness to it like

the smoking guy meme from True Detective (season 1)(watch it if you haven't it's rly good)

many posture themselves as self-flaggelators while forgetting that mortification is about faith. the flagellation is in the growth, the hard work put into your craft. that is the "suffering" : not berating yourself again and again until you've forgotten why you began creating in the first place.

It seems people are often afraid of liking their own art work due to the worry of being perceived as egotistical or conceited, but you can still love your work and have a huge driving force behind that acting as a love for learning and improving. You can be proud and seek joy while you grow.
