This photographic montage comes from a Hitachi catalog--once I crossed paths with it, many comments including my own thought that the lady posing for said cover, looks almost like the 1987 TMNT version of April 0´Neil--most likely a coincidence of sorts.

Thus I decided to make this fanart, based on that piece of promotional photography to really complete the image we all had.

I followed as best as I could the official model sheets produced for the cartoon series. Also I have to mention that I was going to make an alternate version featuring April's redesign in the "RED SKY" seasons, something I may do later, who knows.

The model number and letters present in the camera April is holding are a "hidden reference" that is a bit convoluted but makes sense to some degree...

- MIRAEYE [which sounds like the word MIRAI, which is "Future" in Japanese], but the G, if you remove the YE and position the G between the A and E... you get the word "MIRAGE"

- K is shorter for Kevin Eastman and P is shorter for Peter Laird

- 84 is short for the year 1984, the year the first issue of the TMNT comic was published by Mirage.

Released between the mid 80s and 90s, Gumi Megpoid's: The Galactic Giant was a concept album released in three parts (or acts as they're referred to), featuring a collaboration between the Vocaloid and Utau communities of Synth Music that were the trend at the time.

Starring Gumi and Teto, and other stars of their respective groups, this album; through its music and songs tells the story of an inquisitive, 400ft tall, galactic giant, who decided to hit up Earth out of sheer curiosity, and perhaps meeting a new friend or two. And with the later acts, Earth's boundaries were open for more intergalactic visitors and other exciting phenomena.

While there were some bumps in the road, the trilogy proved to be so strong in its impact and reception from the fans and listeners alike that it later received one spin-off or special LP and a robust line-up of merch.

There's a Doujinshi called "𝐍𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐔𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐢 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐅𝐮𝐤𝐤𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐧 [ウル星セブン]" which essentially a mashup between the crazy world of Rumiko Takahashi's Urusei Yatsura and the Scifi Tokusatsu classic Ultraseven. It exists, and bundled in said fanmade publication was a short story featuring another Rumic mash with another Ultra series; RANMA 1/2 & ULTRAMAN LEO.

And in said short segment we get to see the cast of Ranma as the MAC defense team with Ranma themselves... Hilariously transforming into Leo through a well placed splashing of water instead of the Leo ring~ and even more hilarously is that Genma is casted as a Pandafied Alien Magma. A shame we didn't spend more time with this mash but what is there is fun.

The Background:
The reason why I decided to this little mashup/parody is that the origins of the Devil Invaders in the Machine Robo storyline (1985), to me at least, falls in the Cosmic Horror category--think about it, the Devil Invaders were MR's and became victims of the warping powers of the Casmo Zone once the star near Romulos went supernova and collapsed into a black hole that lead to this nightmarish dimension--

1) Takeru Akiba
Akiba is the first human protagonist in the MR franchise--back in the first version of the MR storyline seen in 1982 before the later version of the storyline in 1985 with the Devil Invaders and the Chronos saga in 1986--A computer wizard who proctects Earth with the supercomputer BUDDY who helps the Machine Robo in their battle against the Dogra aliens.

2) Mara Eagle Díaz
She´s an Eagle Robo and one of the main protagonists in this hypothetical Machine Robo horror story.

3) Anya Targonova
If you know of the lore of the Challenge of the Gobots you know her very well.

While I was waiting for the client of the last commission I posted [thus far as of the writting of this post being the 4th] to update the color paletter of their rodent adventurer I decided to treat myself to a fanart/interpretation of Gobots' Crasher, only for it to devolve a little bit into a homage of the classic NEWTYPE magazine of Anime and Pop Culture and....well...here we are! wrapped up these two together [and as of the time of me writting this, waiting for more clients to show up].

𝗙𝗨𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗦
- Ball Pen Robo, their original and self-explanatory name.
- She wasn´t featured in the MR 600 series, instead Ball Pen Robo is a limited figure part of the MACHINE ROBO WORLD CAMPAIGN which, if you collected some points or proof of purchase, Bandai/Popy would Mail or give away this figure in both a blueish or black color.

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬
- This figure is a 3 for 1 ordeal, you get a fun robot, space shuttle, and functioning ball pen and I like how they managed to balance the idea for the design [but like all classic toys of the 80's this fella is hard to get in terms of price and such so].

𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧
- Their adopted name is Penny

- Despite their looks, they're not to be percieved as a meer machine, they behold a power of transdimensional travel and reality manipulation by way of creating tracing lines with her pen, giving her the skill to see all possibilities of a timeline or dimension, as if flipping through a diary.

- Despite their power, they mean well and given her nature as a responsible individual she dosen't want to mess with any dimensions for greed or chaos, instead she uses her powers for educatively-historical purposes for all to see.

𝗙𝗨𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗦: CRASHER

1- I attempted to capture the style of Masami Obari's shading and overall vibe with his classic Mecha Designs for this.

The idea being, establishing "gobotron" as a colony or testing ground for the Romulans that went disconected from Romulos, its fate, and the conflict between them and the Devil Invaders, as for the rise of both Guardians and Renegades...I´ll leave that door open, but suffice to say, the friendship between 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐝 & 𝐃𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝 [aka: Leader-1 & Cy-Kill] was never the same.
