FOUR people have been charged with attemp­ted murder fol­low­ing a num­ber of viol­ent out­breaks at the Arsenal vic­tory parade in Lon­don, the Met­ro­pol­itan Police has said. Officers made a total of 29 arrests after the event in Isling­ton on May 31, in con­nec­tion with incid­ents includ­ing sev­eral stabbings and assaults. Among those arres­ted, two teen­agers and two men have been charged with attemp­ted murder, while another eight people have been charged with offences includ­ing griev­ous bod­ily harm, sexual assault, and assault on an emer­gency worker, the force said. The Met are now ask­ing for fur­ther inform­a­tion regard­ing other incid­ents which reportedly occurred on the day of the parade. Yes­ter­day, the force released images of people they want to quiz as part of their inquir­ies. “These incid­ents occurred on a day when fans should have been able to enjoy cel­eb­ra­tions safely with fam­ily and friends,” Detect­ive Chief Inspector Phil Coster, from the Met­ro­pol­itan Police, said. “Instead, we saw a small num­ber of indi­vidu­als engage in beha­viour that put oth­ers at risk.”
