From Grant Wach: Some wonderful specimens of North Mountain columnar Basalt were delivered for the Rock Garden early Saturday. The NMB marks the Triassic Jurassic boundary around 200 my and represents a failed rift where the Atlantic Ocean attempted to open.
Shout out to EES' Adnan Barkat, Miao Zhang and Alireza Niksejel (pictured left to right), who shared their work and chatted with guests at Meet a Scientist at the Halifax Central Library (July 13). They had a great time. Kids and adults were excited to see the seismic motion and the rock samples.
ENVS 3000 offers course credit AND work experience to students who are in the environmental science major or minor program and have completed at least 54 credits. If you are interested in taking ENVS 3000 in fall term 2026, please email Caroline.Franklin@dal.ca as soon as possible.
