Some surprising— and very welcome— news. With huge thanks to Sarah Lewis and @uniwalespress.bsky.social for publishing all 170 000 words of it 🙈
Reading in a shady spot with a lovely view of the bay. Ain’t budging.
Drove through the mountains to the tiny village of Omodos, where we explored the fourth-century monastery, drank coffee and ate glyko karydaki (sweet preserved green walnuts) under the vines.
Early-morning run along the beachfront from my hotel towards Paphos Harbour, before the annoying tourists sneak downstairs to stake their claim on the sun loungers with their towels.
Drove up the coast towards Limassol to eat fish mezze at the famous Melanda Beach Restaurant with friends I’ve known since childhood. The perfect day.
Just finished the new Douglas Stuart. Loved it. A novel that is filled with complexity and surprise, and one that adequately captures the sheer messiness of family life and human relationships 👌
Hired an ATV to explore the south-west of the island: the legendary St George’s island; splendid Greek Orthodox Church; Adonis waterfall and pool; and a swim at Turtle Bay, a wild and beautiful turtle conservation project.
This is my ‘atoning for the hotel buffet breakfast’ workout routine. 🏋️

Me and the niece Hannah Rose, who has tested positive for the ginger gene.
I’m in Enniskerry, Ireland, for my little brother’s wedding this afternoon. Let’s just say that Bridezilla has nothing on him. #tense 👰 🦖
It’s my BIRTHDAY! 🎁 🎂 Only a few hours in and I can already tell that 26 is a wonderful age to be!

An intense and sweaty workout before leaving for the airport so as to make sure that I sleep on the plane. Sad to be leaving China, but I’ll be back soon. 💤 ✈️
View of Shanghai from the Bund viewing platform. Phenomenal city.
