Hey #MSP peeps - anyone in need of a used top load washing machine and/or a gas front load dryer? Free, they work, we upgraded and want to check if anyone needs them before I post it on Facebook and some scrapper grabs them. I can deliver if it's not too far from the 55109

Using a combination of 2020's technology (fancy pellet grill and wireless temp probes) along with the best of the 1970's (the motorized rotisserie) in order to cook two Costco whole chickens for roughly 50% MORE than it would have cost me to buy precooked rotisserie chickens.

Two whole chickens slowly spinning around a pellet grill.

Looks like I just missed my chance to screenshot a triple digit temp over here in the 55109 about 20 minutes ago. Good thing it's cooled off a bit already...

Screen shot of my Ambient Weather station showing today's high of 100.8, it's currently a much more respectable 99.5 degrees here in Maplewood...

Centerville has a snowplow truck named "Clearopathra"... I saw too slow to grab a pic, maybe when the actual parade starts at 11... Sure hope there's no fire in the service area, every fire truck and fire fighter is setting up for the parade...

Goetting all set up to watch the Centerville parade on main street. (Mom's care facility is here, they bring all the residents out to watch) Enjoying the breeze, hope it lasts...

Neglected to post a pic of the result of my first cook on my new pellet grill last night. Did Saint Louis spareribs, took 90 min more than the six hours I planned, but turned out very tasty. Pretty smoke ring, nice bark and was still tender. Did not wrap it, probably will try that next time.

Some pork ribs showing a nice reddish pink smoke ring, along with a sauced up bark

any #MSP 'ers use a pellet grill? my 6 year old charcoal grill has rusted out and I'm shopping for a replacement. looking at a recteq byb1200 and i'm wondering how well they work in the winter. want to be able to grill more often than smoking, so anyone have any experience to share?

So I thought I had beaten the sunk cost fallacy on an item in my long term possession, only to be defeated by the unfortunate lack of a galvanic corrosion fallacy.

My wife tells me we need to have bourbon sours with our steaks tonight because the lemons help the body process the iron from the beef, and well who am I to argue with science?

I'm fucking old. Found a stack of beer coasters in my garage, including several of these Surly "Twin Cities Newest Brewery". I believe Surly is releasing a 20th anniversary beer this year, maybe I can trade this antique coaster for a beer....
