Just found a whole cooked rotisserie chicken in the recycle bin at my building. Did someone think it was going to be reincarnated?! 🤷♀️🐓

In honor of the US midterm elections, I prepared a "Liberal" cocktail.
This always feels like such a looong day with the time change! 🕑
Flashing back to a Halloween in my first condo. There were 12 units in the building & none of the residents had children so I was not expecting any visitors & did not buy any candy. At about 8PM there is a knock on my door & there is one kid by himself in costume. I felt so badly, I gave him cash. 😅
Starting the weekend with a Commodore cocktail. The recipe calls for Sazerac Rye but I had to improvise. Still quite delightful! 🍸

An 1860 Manhattan from the Waldorf Astoria cocktail recipe book. Quite lovely 🍸😋
Thoughts on ride share drivers that talk on the phone (hands free) while driving? I typically reduce their rating and tip.
On a two day bourbon tour in Louisville KY, and started our 1st tasting at 9:45AM. God help me! 🙏
On a bike ride around Portland harbor and caught this view as a cruise ship was leaving. Don't think I'd want to be on one of those sailboats!
NPR listeners of a certain age may recognize this window sign in Harvard Sq. as a running joke from the "Car Talk" show. It was hosted by two brothers that owned an auto repair shop & would give humorus advice. They would refer to this fictitional firm as their attorneys at the end of each show. 😆
How many pillars can you destroy, before the whole thing collapses?
Went to an art museum today and saw this clever installation that is viewed through a window, and is actually across the street in a different building. Zooming in, it appears to be an abstract of a person looking back at you thru a telescope.
Ending the weekend with an improvised Sidecar, substituting Brandy for Cognac, and Orange Curaco for Cointreau. A bit heavier on the orange notes but still quite delightful. 🍸
Starting the weekend with a Brooklyn cocktail, inspired by the Manhattan. 🍸
Went to a car show today and saw this 1961 Thunderbird, similar to one my grandmother had. The steering column moved left or right to ease access to the driver's seat. Flashing back to memories of her moving the wheel while driving after a few martinis to tease us as kids. She was cool!
