Because it is a tangible thing you can actually base a story around. And the true horror of modern life is modern technology, we have to endure every single day.
Analogue evil: why today’s horror film-makers are obsessed with obsolete tech
I'm also watching season 2 of Caped Crusader. A show that I cannot work out who it is for. Me, to a degree, I guess.

As part of my "try and watch some TV" I started watching Welcome to Derry. It's not bad. But the special effects are fucking appalling. It's absolutely rammed with CGI where it isn't needed and a practical effect would have worked wonders. It all ends up looking super goofy.

Hmmmm. The blu ray already has an extended cut, I do wonder how much of this is actually different/darker. youtu.be/vbmA8V65czY?...

Ready Player Two is an odd book. It genuinely tries to address a lot of problems, and feels like it wants to say something, certainly in the reveal about Halliday and the brain interface. But I don't see it making a very satisfying film.

Still can't believe there's a Lego Flukeman. What a world we live in.
Either way, there's every chance that Holland ends up being the highest grossing actor of all time. Not sure how I feel about that.
If Tom Holland is in Doomsday, then he'll be top, but if he isn't, then highest grossing actor of the year will either be Zendaya or Florence Pugh. It's Zendaya currently.

And it was the highest ever domestic opening weekend. These are huge numbers. Does box office matter? Yes. Is it interesting? That's debatable. But it is great for cinemas to be packed out, and with more than one film too.
Turns out, it was actually $927 million. They've got to be happy with that. Everyone should be happy with that, with this and The Odyssey, cinemas are full again. Yes, big blockbusters blah blah blah, but it's a good thing.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is opening with ~$875M at the global box office 🕷️ Second biggest opening weekend of all time 💰
And yet, do you know what is still the highest grossing film of all time at the domestic box office?

The MCU now holds the 3 biggest opening weekends of all time globally. 1️⃣ - ‘Avengers: Endgame’ ($1.2B) 2️⃣ - ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ ($927M) 3️⃣ - ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ ($640M)
I'm trying to get back into watching TV. It's difficult. I hate the streaming landscape of short seasons and daft years between seasons. But I'm trying.
Absolute insanity. They might as well pull them from sale entirely because no one is going to pay that.
I've had to block this person because they're a genuine paranoid lunatic. This place gets more and more like the old place with each passing day.
No one has said that, though? A lot of the hype around both of those films is the low budgets and that they were made by first time filmmakers. Sinners was a large budget film made by a director with multiple Oscar nominations already. If you can't see the difference, you're ignoring it.

Rewatched the first X Files movie. It's bloody brilliant. And it's another late 90s movie that just looks like a movie, even though it was TV spin off, it looks and feels more genuinely like a proper movie that most things made today. We really lost something in the jump to digital.
I don't hate that rumoured X-Men cast. Shows they're going for something a little different at least.
As a normally unhappy person, I am currently happy.
