my precious boy. my moonbeam child, my wave upon the sand. if the only thing keeping people from thinking your writing is LLM-generated is that it has em dashes in it. the problem is not the em dashes

It's pretty funny that the Hollywood representation of coding (lines of code flying past on a screen) has retroactively become a real thing
I think the issue a lot of devs have with AI is that they haven’t realized that they’re project managers now. PMs don’t write the code for their projects, they herd developers who are probabilistic, idiosyncratic, who interpret requirements differently, etc. It’s all been shifted one layer deeper.
So… my cat Phyllis peed on some clothes on the floor in my bedroom. I trusted you Phyllis, I fed you and protected you from the dog, and this is how you repay me?
I've updated the WebPerf Snippet "Find non Lazy Loaded Images outside of the viewport" to list images without loading="lazy". Now it shows: - Total number of images - Total file size - Individual details: URL, resolution & file size #WebPerf #WebPerfSnippets #PerfTools
I’m at 98/100 in my remote Physical Geography course at Minnesota North college, I could quit now and get a 70% or C grade. The temptation is real.
I was playing Nick Harrison’s “Art Official Soul” on Spotify and my wife said “how dare you bring that into my house.” For those who don’t know, it’s 100% AI-generated covers of songs done in an old-school soul style. I said “but does it sound good?” And her response? “I don’t care.” Fatality.
Don't [...spread] or .split() your strings! Use Intl.Segmenter API. Available in every JS runtime
See, I knew there must have been a greater purpose in making ChatGPT widely available to the unwashed masses like me. How else would I have learned this nugget of traditional Chinese medicine?
Just fired up the Zed editor for the first time. I like it so far. Ported over my MCP settings and configured it to use Shopify’s internal AI proxies, and it’s cooking.
Happy There Is A Circulatory System Walking Through The Kitchen Day to all who celebrate.
Do I feel bad that I’m spending valuable energy resources arguing in bad faith with ChatGPT about aliens? A little.
I am really loving the Rust language. I like how it forces me to be technically correct, which is the best kind of correct. And it’s not so hard, really. I thought so back before I learned Typescript and a little C#, but now I realize the difficulty for me was always types, coming from Python and JS
My one college class that I’m enrolled in hangs over me every week. Just like in days of yore, I put it off until the last minute and cram it through at the last second. Never change, Dan. Never change.

Getting an incredible email from a client praising my work on their behalf exactly a day AFTER my half-yearly review is exactly how life works.
My wife got us the greatest (to me) AirBNB while we were in Amsterdam. #amsterdam #perfnow
I’m hopeful about this!
Glad to announce that my team at @cloudflare.social released a 1.0.0 version of a cross-browser web performance testing agent that supports Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. Thank you to @tkadlec.bsky.social for making it happen and writing most of the code so far! github.com/cloudflare/t...
After my trip to Amsterdam, I think I’m ok on Heineken beer for… basically ever. But, as my boss said, there’s a difference between Heineken and free Heineken.
So many things to catch up on while I was out at @perfnow.nl: - @cursor.com.web.brid.gy Cursor 2.0 dropped, I'm excited to work with their new agent flow - @cloudflare.social dropped Telescope, a fledgeling replacement for WPT (RIP). github.com/cloudflare/t... - I've decided to learn @rust-lang.org
