A New Yorker old enough to remember Fleet and Chemical Bank

I saw “One Night Only” last night. A sub-conscious conservative film for the liberals. Deeply uninterested in its own premise and politics. Either be a full Angel Studios production or give it to John Waters. No centrist bullshit please.

To be clear: CBS and 60 minutes has been taken over by fascists. They need be resisted, rejected, removed- all of it. But after watching the New York Time Interview podcast, I am annoyed by Scott Pelley’s naive and privileged perspective. It’s alarming.

Social media created this nonsense idea that not exposing yourself to hatred is isolationist. Choosing to not spend your free time with bigots isn’t living in a bubble. I don’t need to know what’s going on at X. I won’t be smarter or more knowledgeable or empathic by being there. Neither will you.

Rev. Jesse Jackson's "I *am* somebody..." remains one of the all-time great pieces of 20th century rhetoric / agitprop And he could deliver it at a Black separatist meeting, the Democratic National Convention, or on god-blessed Sesame Street (see below 🥹) RIP to the Voice of the Voiceless

The thing that makes Star Trek utopian isn’t the end of scarcity or the harmony between all peoples it’s also that the guy on the ship who gets laid the most plays the trombone at work and periodically does community theater
