In case you wondered if the regulations associated with the Clean Air Act were worth the cost to businesses, I encourage you to go outside in Chicago today, take a deep breath in (if you can) and realize this qualified as a *good* air quality day in the 1950s

My wife and I made the decision to shift away from using Amazon due to Bezos's support for the current administration, and it's been great (we're helped by living in a place that still has local stores). I ordered something direct from an online retailer and...they're using Amazon to fulfill...

What is grace period registration? Grace period registration is an extension of the regular registration deadline. Grace period registration authorizes each election authority to establish procedures for the registration of voters and for change of address during the period from the close of registration for an election through Election Day. Although the traditional voter registration period closes 28 days prior to the election, grace period registration extends that deadline from the 27th day prior to an election through Election Day. Grace period registration is only available in-person at designated sites. What is grace period voting? If a voter who registers to vote or changes their address during this grace period wishes to vote in the election occurring during this grace period, they must do so in-person at the same time that they register. The election authority may allow grace period voting by mail only if the election authority has no ballots prepared and available when the registration occurs. Where is grace period registration and voting available? During the grace period people can register and vote: 1) at the office of the election authority; 2) at a permanent polling place established by the election authority; 3) at any other early voting site beginning 15 days prior to the election; 4) at some polling places on Election Day; 5) at a location specifically designated for this purpose by the election authority. Check with your local election authority to determine the locations and hours available in your area May I verify that my voter registration is correct? I’m frequently happy that my wife and I both drive EVs (especially since the Chicago-area grid is mostly renewables/nuclear), but very happy at the moment we don’t have to buy gas Now…the cost of everything else that’s about to go up? That’s gonna suck…

One of the cool things about living in Chicago is how functional the place can be even in bad weather. Drove my dad’s rental car back to the airport - was an adventure, for sure - and now comfortably enjoying a Pace bus ride back home, with only the normal walk I would have anyway from the train
