I’ve received multiple comments across platforms on this article along the lines of “Germans and their gas chambers.” To be clear: this is not a uniquely German practice. This method, despite the extreme suffering it causes, is a standard method used for pig slaughter around the world.

We are trained to sort the world into useful objects and inconvenient beings. A chair is something. It has no eyes, no mother, no fear, no will to keep living. A cow is someone. She feels, learns, bonds, worries, recognizes faces, and struggles to stay alive when threatened.

Every time we see a meat ad, it asks us not only to BUY, but to KILL. MEAT is a linguistic shield. Replace it with BODIES. More at bit.ly/world-revisited #nature #veganism #animalethics
