Lasse said he apologized to the team in the locker room. "It's a bad feeling hurting the team, knowing they have to fight with ten men." #SportingKC
Wicky didn't really want to criticize Lasse for the red card. Said they didn't lose the game because of one player. Did feel like that tackle was a bit hard given he was on a yellow. Said he was frustrated that he feels the team gave Houston their two goals. #SportingKC
Final. #SportingKC loses 2-0. Third loss in four games since the World Cup break. Performances are not exactly giving much folks much confidence that things are heading in the right direction.
Dejan Joveljic gets on the end of a long ball over the top but the shot wasn't going to get by Bond. That was #SportingKC's first shot attempt since the 15th minute.

Second half getting underway. No changes for #SportingKC. Kwaku will drop into the deeper midfield spot next to Bassong. Will see how long they can defend.
Halftime. #SportingKC was building going into the second half. But that was just an abysmal 45 minutes from LBJ. Sporting down a man for the next 45.
Not enough off ball movement from #SportingKC. Though Lasse seems allergic to hitting a diagonal ball....and he's just been given a second yellow. #SportingKC

There is a very good player in Taylor Suarez on the wing for ACFC. Every time she gets on the ball, she looks confident and puts a lot of pressure on defenders, getting downhill towards goal quick.
Garcia moved to the bench. Kwaku Agyabeng with the start. Interesting choice though I've loved what I've seen from Kwaku off the bench. Capita back in too. Mosquera with his first start. #SportingKC

Ref has forced the Current to take every throw-in at the exact spot it went out, yet has allowed Angel City to move the ball up 15 yards for a free kick to take. Also let them take a throw in nearly 10 yards further forward too.
Referee Shawn Tehini is letting Lo LaBonta get beat up and finally did something about it. Emslie goes into the book. Was about the fourth or fifth time Angel City took her out late. #KCBaby
E-Ball just dusted Sentnor. The Current have woken up a bit since the goal. A liiiiitle more in control and keeping the ball a lot better.

The Current announced a bunch of round-number milestones: Debinha with 150 starts, 100 appearances for the Current for Elizabeth Ball, and 100 games for Izzy Rodriguez. The soccer sicko in me wants to see a milestone kit presentation on the field before the game with owners for like 100 xG
This is the most glorious August day I've ever seen, weather-wise. It's 81 degrees with a nice breeze. We're about 15 minutes from kickoff of the KC Current and Angel City game. I'll be there until late in the second half before jetting over to SKC at 7:40.
That's nine players unavailable tomorrow for #KCBaby. Five of them would be best XI candidates. Brutal out here.
