Polanski's ability to make himself the loser in *another party's* political crisis is quite something
Hello I'm an idiot
The Polanski comments don't make a huge amount of sense until you remember that the Green Party fielded an array of remarkably awful candidates at the locals earlier this year and are clearly aching to do so again.
Good news for Peter Mandelson?
The Conservative Party tried to turn the reformed Neo-Nazi saga around onto Jewish communal organisations by suggesting that they could facilitate a meeting between him and them. The Board of Deputies and the JLC have rightly told the Tories where to go. www.jewishnews.co.uk/board-and-jl...
Delighted to say that there's a new front-runner for Headline of the Week.

I can tell you that within the Jewish community itself, there are some voices who are speaking about the need for forgiveness (those are the voices who would never in a million years accept that if the Left had done something like this), but for many people it's gone down like a bucket of cold sick.
Badenoch throwing away a significant bunch of the good will that she was building up within the Jewish community, and for what? A council candidate that her party simply did not need to select? And why? Because he makes high-quality AI videos? Just utterly surreal.

Amused at Kemi Badenoch telling radio 4 it's fine to select a former neo nazi as a local councillor because he's just dealing with 'bins' etc but that she has a higher threshold when it comes to selecting MPs. Which is why, I presume, she turned down Grant Shapps??
Not surprised. It's the season of awful candidates winning Dem primaries.
🚨🚨 Abdul El Sayed wins the Democratic Senate primary in Michigan, NBC News projects. He defeats Haley Stevens.
New: Luciana Berger, who was one of the people targeted for racial harassment by the former Neo-Nazi who has now been selected as a Tory council candidate, has described how Kemi Badenoch has 'got this very, very wrong' www.jewishnews.co.uk/jewish-labou...

Incredible to see America's most populous city slowly stumbling towards a fact that most other places figured out decades ago. One day they might even get contactless payments for public transport.
Could the answer to reducing rats in New York City really be as simple as putting garbage into trash cans? Yes, actually.
Every time I think society has reached peak Israel Derangement, someone finds a way to take it to another level.
The thing I find most peculiar about all this is that Reform UK seem to believe a National Rally government would work hand-in-hand with a Reform UK government to stop migration, which manages to massively misread how relationships between neighbouring ultranationalist governments very often work.
The war. It always comes back to the war. That happened long before they were born.
Is it possible to recant previous despicable views? Yes. But for me to view a change as sincere, I'd like to see evidence of significant work such a person has specifically done with key charities/communal organisations in the sector they previously targeted. And I don't see any here.
Kemi Badenoch last month: "We are recruiting serious people who understand common sense, can get stuff done and can unite the country...Candidate selection is... one of the first serious tests of whether the Conservative Party has actually learnt from defeat." www.jewishnews.co.uk/former-neo-n...
I've been told that this individual is now running (unopposed) for a seat on the party's disciplinary committee. Meaning that they will shortly be among those who sit in judgement on cases of absolutely rancid Neo-Nazi level antisemitism which "Greens for Palestine" would call "criticism of Israel"

This is the problem with populism: you cannot build a republic on a foundation of conspiracies. Corruption and special interests are real challenges, but reducing politics to “us” against “them” infantilizes the electorate and sows the seeds of authoritarian rule.
There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.
I wonder if Professor Arday has ever considered joining the Green Party? He could go far. www.heraldscotland.com/news/2643356...

What satire was he promoting when he got that police caution? Punch & Judy?
Former Spectator editor Fraser Nelson: “Rod Liddle was the greatest satirist since Swift”. Sometimes, you wonder what planet these guys are on.

Dog. Racism. The only thing he's Punishing are the brain cells of anyone who watched the video of him saying this.
If I had very strong views on one subject, I would not post a glowing tribute to someone who shared my views on that one subject - no matter how important it was to me - if simultaneously it was very clear that they were an excruciatingly unpleasant individual in many other areas.
I absolutely did not say this? Ever? A two state solution is the only possible solution, IMO. Every single serious 2 state peace plan has mooted some sort of land swaps, which would see the small bits of the West Bank in which the overwhelming majority of Jews in the WB live become Israel.
Ok, I have a little bit of time. Ask me any questions (within reason) ngl.link/danielsugarm...

This Guardian piece is interestingly written, because what it's basically saying is this: a) Black people in the public sphere receive huge amounts of hate, as well as attempts by crank race-scientists to discredit them. b) But these guy's claims do not add up www.theguardian.com/education/ng...
Playbooks, plagiarism and a pig’s head: new claims surrounding a star Cambridge professor
Jason Arday was regarded as an academic superstar, but then questions about his work prompted scrutiny of his backstory and counterclaims of racism

Oh, this definitely absolutely 100% won't be used to remove the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque and replace it with the Third Temple and then get sent to a bunch of wildly susceptible people. No sirree.
New from 404 Media: Google Earth has introduced an AI feature that lets anyone fabricate completely bullshit satellite images. In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...
Last month, Diane Abbott stood up at a conference in London and described Ukraine’s defence against Russian invasion as, and I quote, “the NATO campaign against Russia”. Labour are genuinely mad to let her back in.
Interesting. The literary agency in question doesn't seem to have many acclaimed authors, but it does have a bunch of celebs...
My follow up question is, based on the ways they identified the AI included "flat prose" how exactly did this get such a contested auction?
Infantino now that UEFA, CONCACAF and the AFC have all told him to get in the sea:
It's grotesquely fascinating to see a bunch of people whose brains have been melted over the last few years going with *Israel instructed Morocco to pressurise Spain via sending a wave of immigrants*. They managed to find a way to push Great Replacement Theory from the far-left.
I have a sinking, inexplicable feeling that Johann Hari is somehow going to be involved with this.
Channel 4 has announced documentary “The Great ADHD Myth?” It “seeks to determine whether ADHD is a genuine neurodevelopmental disorder, or a social construct.”
