Today, I learned conclusively what noise a morgue shelf makes when it closes. It clonks. I know this is a fact, because the closed-captioning told me so.

My new phone sings the first two notes of "Chariots of Fire" when I plug it in, so going to bed everyday has become an outright epic experience.

If I could find ONE thing to pin most or all of humanity's problems to, it would: a catastrophic insufficiency of eye contact. It's MUCH more difficult to cheat, take more than your share away from, deny benefits to, hurt, or outright murder a person, when you've had to look them in the eye, first.

Sometimes? I'll have, like, an itch on my arm that feels suspiciously like a bug, so I'll check it visually whilst preparing my hand for a mighty slap, but in the fraction of a second it takes to check, I realize, no it's not a bug, likely a stray hair, but it's too late to suspend the slap, so I'll

I don't think the people in my life truly grasp how much of my personality is propped up by caffeine, especially now that I'm making a sincere effort to remove it from my life.

Politeness, and bluster, are different expressions of the same cowardice. The United States is in the trouble they're in because of their government is made up of too many of both.

How we beat back the corporate takeover of America: 1. Break up corporate monopolies 2. Continue building union power 3. End Citizens United and get big money out of politics Let’s keep working to unrig the system.

Gutted to hear about Anthony Head. He was one of those actors who always brought something special to a role. A huge talent and by all accounts a genuinely lovely man. Rest in peace, sir. Thank you for the memories. 💙

My interactions with my landlord are pretty much identical to my interactions with the shittiest bosses I've ever had. I am not a Free Person. I am a slave. I exist only to meet demands. I am only allowed to live as long as I work to ensure that other human beings are marginally more comfortable.

Why do so many feel like they've fallen behind? It's not because of immigrants, trans people, DEI, the “deep state,” or any other bogeyman trotted out by the GOP. It's because big corporations and billionaires have rigged markets and siphoned off most of the economy's gains.

I keep wondering when Marty McFly is going to finally arrive, steal the Almanac back from Trump, then go back to 1985 to set things right again.
