It would be very funny if he somehow ended up playing Kratos in God of War *and* Marcus in Gears of War. Not just because of the acronym confusion, but it would also confuse platform warriors.

All cynicism aside, Doomsday will likely be one of the rare movies that gets me to the theater - if for no other reason than I’m certain any surprises will be given away on here (you know who you are) if I wait for it on streaming. At least with The Odyssey I don’t have to worry about spoilers.
With the number of characters being crammed into Doomsday I bet a fair number of them will have as much screen time in the trailer as they do in the full movie.
“Some Democrats” are accessories to war crimes, then.
After New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani said there was an “active conversation” among his staff about whether to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he arrives in September for the U.N. General Assembly, some Democrats were quick to condemn him.
For reference, TES6 was first announced eight years ago in 2018 and we still haven’t seen so much as a screenshot. So Fallout 5 could be out around 2035-ish. That puts it 32 years before the bombs are supposed to fall in the lore. The clock is ticking on that one!
Bethesda Game Studios has laid out its roadmap for the foreseeable future, with The Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 5, Obsidian's new Fallout game, several remake projects and more all confirmed. https://bit.ly/4gEIbEL
Crazy person says crazy thing. Part of registering to vote is providing an address. Did you send anybody to any of these addresses to check and see if you’re right? Of course you didn’t, because you know you’re wrong.
DHS says it found thousands of non-citizens on voter rolls in four states
I gotta find the time for a mega-modded New Vegas run at some point.

Ignoring that you’re clearly lying, Mr Speaker, what exactly do you need to know about this event to answer whether or not there should be accountability?
Q: The ICE agents who killed a person in Maine yesterday were not using body cams. Does there need to be accountability? MIKE JOHNSON: Uh, I don't know anything about this event. I was a little busy yesterday. You guys can mock me for not knowing that. I worked about 22 hours.
📌Just in case a MAGA in your life is lecturing you about respecting Lindsey Graham and the dead. Have a good day, everybody.
This is very cool. Approaching a remake review like this is a philosophical headache because, for instance, what normal person is going to play them like this, and thus who is this evaluation really *for?* But at the same time, that’s what makes the perspective so interesting to read.
I tried something different for my Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake review. I played the new game... and then beat the 2013 original as well. www.pcgamer.com/games/assass...
It’s pretty funny that X-Men 97 season 2 has had cameo roles for Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, and John DeLancie in the first few episodes. It would be awesome if they got the whole Star Trek TNG cast *except* Patrick Stewart (unless he’s playing Xavier in the future).
A concerning thing is that if Xbox lights a fire under Obsidian to turn around a new Fallout in a couple of years, they may have to work with the Starfield engine - which was already super creaky three years ago. Maybe they do it in the Avowed/Outer Worlds 2 Unreal engine? Sounds like a big lift.
How long can a Fallout take to make, 6 weeks? Surely axing a huge part of the staff will help. Just sprinkle some AI on it.
I remember getting mobbed by angry fanboys on Twitter when, after the Zenimax acquisition in 2021, I mused that the natural move for Xbox would be fold Avowed into TES6 and The Outer Worlds into Fallout. Can't help but wonder if they'd have been in different shape today if they'd done the obvious.
If true, it sucks to hear a sequel to Avowed isn't happening. That said, putting @jesawyer.bsky.social on a new Fallout is something that should have happened day one after the Zenimax acquisition. (Certainly there was a reason this didn't besides "people are stupid" but it's hard to imagine.)
BREAKING: Obsidian Entertainment is making a big pivot as part of the Xbox restructuring. It has laid off a quarter of its staff, canceled a planned sequel to Avowed, and is now beginning work on a new Fallout game, according to people familiar with the plans www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Brutal. They thankfully managed to avoid outright closing anything today, but cutting loose thousands of employees can’t be seen as anything other than a catastrophe.
BREAKING: Xbox will cut 3,200 jobs as part of a major reorganization, and divest from five studios: - Compulsion and Double Fine will go indie - Ninja Theory and Undead Labs will be sold - Arkane to enter consultation process Here's the full story: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Incredible moment where Fox News puts up a graphic with all the reasons it opposes the DSA and why people should be afraid of them
For my money, Xbox buying Bethesda and then allowing them to do *absolutely nothing* with Fallout for nearly a decade now (Fallout 4 was 2015, 76 came out in 2018) is perhaps one of the biggest dropped balls ever. Fallout is no GTA or CoD but was pretty damn big, even before the TV show blew up.
It still galls me that there are no Fallout 1 & 2 remakes even in the works (apparently there's too much missing source for proper remasters). Those are fantastic RPGs that people should play, but while you can get good working versions off of Steam, they're pretty creaky.

It'll be a long road to Fallout 5 – in the meantime, Microsoft should bring back the games that started it all.

Remember, folks: The headline is *not* "Xbox is considering closing multiple studios and canceling a bunch of games." It's XBOX.
Ah good, they’re not *completely* insane then. Just like, mostly.
Despite a report this morning, I can confirm that Obsidian is *not* in negotiations to avoid shutting down. Plenty of details are still up in the air surrounding the layoffs (picture will be clear on Monday) but Xbox is keeping Obsidian, according to people familiar with the situation.
There has to be *some* reason that the developers behind the most beloved Fallout game hasn’t been out to work on a new Fallout game, even when it’s very existence seems to be on the line.
It is very funny that every time I try to use my Apple TV remote’s Siri voice search to bring up Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed (an Apple TV show) it consistently pops up with this message instead.
Tbh this seems like a stunt to get attention and raise awareness for an eye-roll of a show via anti-AI outrage. It would not have been hard to find someone to do an impression that’s just as good or better, without having to pay for the rights to his actual voice (assuming they did).

I wonder how deep they went with this. Eg, did they check to see if the 20% of disc copies are disproportionately bought by the most passionate customers who buy and play more games overall? I’d bet money that they are. You don’t buy the less convenient thing unless you’re thinking about it more.
In 2016, less than 3 of every 10 PS4 game purchases were made digitally. By this year, it was nearly 8 of 10 for PS4/PS5 That shift likely showed Sony it could do this, drop the cost of making/shipping discs, improve its software profit margins a bit, potentially de-emphasize a next-gen disc drive
