I come here to post about video games and board games and end up getting worked up over politics. Myrmecophagidae on Xbox, Nintendo, BGG. He.

I love how Instagram sends me a notification that so-and-so has added to their story, and I click the notification and it brings me to that person's story 0% of the time. Just a flawless app. Please put the people who made this in charge of the whole country. Nothing will go wrong.

It's probably no cause for concern that for over 40 years I never experienced the phenomenon of Canadian wildfire smoke filling the sky here in western New York, and now it's basically an annual occurrence.

If baseball games are going to have those blue screen ads behind the batter, they need to disable them when half the field is in shadow, because every at bat looks like the rancor fight from Return of the Jedi.

Pulled out Under Falling Skies for the first time in over two years. I forgot how much fun this game is. Tense, puzzly, quick to set up and play, and very modular – all hallmarks of a great solo game. Haven't tried the campaign yet, but hope to get to it soon.

Played my first game of Draft & Write Records. Out together a weird band with two bass players and no drummer, although they do apparently own three drum sets. Fun game, although I do question the decision to involve yellow colored pencils in a ____ & write.

Cards from the board game Draft & Write Records: three drum sets, two identical bass players, a guitar player who looks like if Slash took his hat off, and a lead singer who looks like Liam Gallagher.

With how much tech bros misunderstand sci-fi and are inspired by it to implement their AI-powered vision of a future that they didn't realize was a cautionary tale, I wonder if we're about to be inundated with biotech bros who have completely missed the point of shows like Pluribus and Severance.

First (solo) play of Men-Nefer is in the books. I snuck past the automa 78-67 despite contributing almost nothing to the great pyramid. Really fun game with a slightly tedious setup. Some good combos, but doesn't get out of hand. Can't wait to try this one with some human opponents!
