I initially intended to keep this character as a secret, but since I changed the comic to be a one-shot and not an ongoing series, I think I can show one of my only bear OCs besides bear Logan. So, I present to you guys Joshua (or Josué for the brazillians) :3 I need to draw him again x3

Carrying on with some more #boxinggorilla shenanigans, let‘s spice things up a bit with Krusha! Looks like DK has finally found someone who can give him a proper challenge, huh? 😏 Art was done by the supreme @timlakedark.bsky.social

A Punch-Out styled art piece of Donkey Kong getting sent reeling backwards from an uppercut from Krusha. In the background, you can see a dense jungle and a makeshift fighting ring made out of logs and vines. DK is wearing his usual red and yellow boxing gear. His expression is one of stunned surprise as he nearly collapses from the hit. Meanwhile, the blue kremling is sporting military-camo boxing gloves and a sadistic smile.

After a unscheduled interruption (and by that, I mean I had to get some lunch and do some errands), we’re back to some more #boxinggorilladay content! This time, he’s going up against heavyweight boxer General Klump! Art was done by the fan-favourite @ahhmaceuticals.bsky.social

HAPPY 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO BOXING GORILLA DAY!!! 🎂🍾🥳🎉🎊🎈 To celebrate the occasion, I thought I’d revisit an old idea. Last year, I got some art of DK taking on several apes. This year though, I thought I‘d go with something more…reptilian. Artwork was done by the sublime @mattieguy.bsky.social

A Punch-Out styled art piece (complete with health-bars and video game HUD displays) showing Donkey Kong fighting a Kaboom from the DKC games. The big gorilla has his back facing the camera while his opponent sits in front of him inside a wooden barrel. The red kremling is obviously dazed and disoriented with a pained look on his face. Meanwhile, stars and spirals float around his head as Donkey Kong prepares to land another punch on him.

That’s right! This year, Donkey Kong’s gonna be punching, walloping and slamming through the Kremling army to take a shot at the reining champion so stay tuned for more updates. 🥊🦍 Also like last year, I’m also gonna be posting bloody/bruised versions of each illustration just for the heck of it.

The same art as the one up above, just with more blood and bruises.

And with that, we’ve reached the end of my contributions for this years #Boxinggorilladay. I hope you liked this year’s artwork as much as I did. I have a few thanks I want to give below this post but if you don’t care to read it, consider this final piece an epilogue to this large project.

Art of a bandaged and bloodied Donkey Kong pounding his chest im front of an energetic background while hanging and displaying this year’s and last year’s championship belts on his shoulders. The big ape is missing a few teeth, has a bloody lip and mouth and is sporting a large grin on his face despite the pain.

DING DING DING!!! 🔔 Weighing in at 800 pounds and standing in at 7’10”, your new reigning champion, give it up for…DONKEY KONG! (heads up, there’s one more piece after this but the fight stuff is officially over) Just to say it one last time, art was done by the epic @hikariwolfworks.bsky.social

The final piccy shared on the first Boxing Gorilla Day saw the return of Bowser and the first of what would turn out to be a great many BGD appearances from Donkey Kong, in this here pencil-rendered piece by yours truly, guest starring Big Blag and Pimple from Battletoads. #BoxingGorillaDay

And what about video games? Brimming with boxing gorillas, 'mate. From Big Ape in Kangaroo (1982) to Shades in Magic Pockets (1991), from Casius and Floquet in Animal Boxing (2008) to Donkey Kong in Punch-Out!! for the Wii (2009) the pixelated world has punchy primates to spare. #BoxingGorillaDay
