Yep, that one.

Found some lovely posters of my home town on Etsy. You know, with the sea front facing the wrong way and featuring that lighthouse we don’t have, and the local pubs the Ope and Howebts. (Biographical note: we used to go drinking in Howebts when I was a teenager. Fun times!)

Thank heavens Norway is finally on the map. As someone who travels there regularly I was getting tired of pilots just pointing the plane in a general northwesterly direction and giving it a go.

From @theathleticfc.bsky.social: Erling Haaland described the previous month at the World Cup as the greatest adventure of his life. "It has been the best weeks and the best journey I’ve had in my entire life." nyti.ms/4aO9etu

You should come back and do a quick, four episode run of Mock the Week, they said. Don’t be ridicolous, I said. What news will there be, in June, during a World Cup? Oh, they said. Something will happen. Anyway, Sunday nights on TLC and available on the TLC YouTube channel afterwards.

Specific Duolingo question: has anyone got into level 60/70 and found it gets very repetitive? Every end-of-unit quiz is identical. Generally happy with it up to there (in tandem with other apps and methods) but it’s getting boring now. Does it shake that off?

The way the Ecuador fans belted out that anthem is a reminder of what this world Cup would be like if FIFA hadn’t priced so many fans out of attending, or the US hadn’t made it so difficult to attend.

Interesting how many people are taking about Backrooms, and tracing the influences and “liminal spaces” etc. and yet how few mention videogames. I mean, Jesus, it’s a first person shooter. Hopefully, it might make people rediscover the Stanley Parable too.
