Intern Lando = super genius. 1 realized everyone was hanging at the pizza box and thus would be the center of attention 2 the pizza box is warm and toasty So now if you want pizza you must appease and fawn over Lando first. His namesake would be proud #InternLando

When you think of "The Force" what's the first single image that comes to mind? #StarWars
Already working on excerpts/quote previews for #ReignoftheEmpire #EdgeoftheAbyss for the fall, and wow there are some doozies in here. Hard to pick just a few. #StarWarsLegacy and Edge of the Abyss back-to-back is a special duo of #StarWars books.
If you weren't at #SDCC, a full recording of the Star Wars Books from Random House Worlds panel is now available. Check out Ashley, Madeleine, and Gabby be brilliant - plus that moderator guy who was also there (he's fine). www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNYl...

Happy book birthday to #StarWarsLegacy and Madeleine Roux. It's the Rey/Leia book you always wanted @authoroux.bsky.social undeniable ability to take even legendary characters and make them feel "real" and "true" as people is the reason this story doesn't just work, it soars Enjoy the book #MTFBWY
I have no record to prove/disprove that so I'll just leave that there. But looking at the second cover there's clearly an attempt to reflect more action/potential danger/etc. how much people attribute that to "guys" is for others to debate.
is it true that Courtship got redesigned because the original cover was deemed too girly
Lots of factors. Anniversaries, bigger moments in the connected brand, feedback from booksellers, feedback from readers, creative ideas that our editorial and design teams come up with and what books those fit. Just a few of the factors.
The 2017 Thrawn novel just got a rerelease and that got me wondering what factors in to those of certain SW books like it? How do you guys decide which is gonna get a new rerelease with a different style?
Yes. I keep a document with all of those cuts from across every book I've ever worked on.
Without going into specifics, was anything edited out of a final version of a book that you then wished have been kept in?
Noble = favorite Least favorite = can't think of any specific one.
What’s your favorite word? Least favorite?
I never leave Destiny. Arc Warlock forever. Void with the new power drain is fun. That or poison build with Strand
Been to Destiny lately? Are you running any particular build for your Warlock?
Any of the moments where someone comes to the booth "on a mission" for their friend or family member. They don't always know exactly what they are getting or why but to see how earnest they are and then happy when they get the thing. It's lovely seeing people care for the joy of others so much.
Do you have a favorite con story?
I don't have favorite SW characters tbh
Of the new canon Sith and Acolytes introduced over the years, which is your favorite? Thinking of characters like Momin, Siberus, Caldoth, etc. but also characters like The Stranger or others you might count among that number.
Yes...and I might be working on changing that so, I'll keep it a secret for now.
Any IP that is NOT in the PRH license that you wish you could work on?
Only cap when specifically referring to the Rebel Alliance organization (in universe) or referring to the show Rebels (out of universe). Anto Kreegyr is a rebel but not a Rebel. There are rebel bases but only things like Yavin or Hoth would be Rebel bases etc. Most of the time then, it's lc.
"rebel", capitalized or uncapitalized?
Every book is secretly about Jaxxon. You just have to read closely. Yes. I curate playlists based on the vibe of every book. If you look up Del Rey Books on Spotify Ive published several of them.
When we getting a Jaxxon trilogy? =P Do you listen to any music when editing?
Writers have broken in via a variety of ways. Also including things like writing for games etc. Novels is most frequent
Have writers broken in with comics or short stories alone or are full length published novels a must?
At a show like #SDCC it's so varied. Between legacy characters, niche ones, etc. Specific to this week lots of Rey and Leia conversation and Andor related characters.
Congratulations on Legacy selling through its con copies! When you're at the table, what characters do fans bring up most often? Does it tend to center around whatever the upcoming releases are, or are there consistent fan favorites?
It's not retconning to find the white space in a story and fill in more of it or expand. It's a challenge but not too hard. We pay attention to a lot of stories and are always talking about opportunities and what we need to be aware of
How difficult is the process of "retconning" or finding a way of making something like Legacy, Master of Evil or Mask of Fear fit within the established Canon?
One of the frequent ones is putting technology that is too modern (like internet like tech) in books. That and writing about the Force the way it manifests in videogames. That's specific to that medium but not correct for prose. And the whole metric system thing
What mistakes specific to writing about Star Wars do writers most frequently need corrected by an editor?
Signing bags of chips. But seriously all the kind words people said about our panel was really meaningful. I was really stressed about not screwing it up or wasting people's time
Favorite fan interaction from the convention?
Doing good thanks for asking. I legitimately consider both Legacy and Edge of the Abyss masterpieces. Quite different, but for what they are trying to accomplish and the stories to tell, it truly is an apt description
How are you? And what upcoming project are you currently most excited for folks to read?
My cat-interns continue to be pretty great
Met any good pets lately?
Post #SDCC. Traveling forever today. #StarWarsLegacy coming Tuesday. #AMA, why not?
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to get a book signed this weekend! And major credit to @gmunoz6991.bsky.social, @darthinternous.bsky.social and the whole PRH team for being organized rockstars 🩷🩷
Honored that BATMAN: REVOLUTION has received the Scribe Award for Best Media Tie-In Novel (Speculative Fiction) from the International Association of Media Tie-in Writers. My thanks to editor Tom Hoeler @darthinternous.bsky.social, Random House, Warner Bros., and DC for making the project possible.
Next time I have a chance, somewhere - I want to discuss "the story value of plot armor" and how it creates - instead of limits - opportunities for character development. Which is perhaps best illustrated by this Bail Organa quote from #StarWars #TheMaskofFear.
Star Wars: Legacy by Madeleine Roux examines the complex relationship between two of the franchise's best female characters: Leia and Rey. Here's an excerpt from the book! https://fangirlish.me/4vqg53B
