Been wanting to draw these creatures from the comic the minute I saw them, so this is LONG overdue. They came with such an amazing first presence in the prologue and honestly, I was hooked instantly. Of course, this is my own little gnarly twist because I’m extra af, but I couldn’t help but show my appreciation. Also was lazy and didn’t feel like drawing the backlegs, shh.

Touji (he/him) is a recurring background character in Tales of Tiamont. He's one of Eclipse's five main friends during the chapter where he resides in the Fire Aven Kingdom. I haven't drawn Touji in quite a while, and all of his old reference sheets and character designs have become super outdated. With the art momentum I've had lately, I decided it was finally time to give him a newer redesign.

I’ve had a fascination with hands for as long as I can remember. People who have known me for years know that this is something very deep, personal and unique to me only. To me, hands symbolize so many things. They hold each other in greeting, in reassurance, in grief, in love. They can comfort someone, protect, create things, or even hurt someone when the heart behind them is in the wrong place. They caress, they adore and worship. They wave hello, they say goodbye. They make promises. Small hands, aged hands lined with many wrinkles, scarred hands, hands marked in ways unique to only one person. You can learn so much about someone just by looking at their hands. I’m not sure why, but I’ve always found them deeply beautiful.

On a personal note: I’ve been in relationships where intimacy meant something different, quieter, softer. And for years, the way I’ve learned to show my love was through my hands. Nothing sexual, nothing possessive, just gentle, reassuring touch. Holding someone’s hand to me, can express support and love, more deeply than words ever could. No matter how sexual my art may be, I will always hold this form of intimacy close to my heart, whether it be with friends or with loved ones.
