Beautiful map about transport to Greater Manchester music venues. Nice touches like faded pink backgrounds on the venue names looking like an EQ output. Seems it might be an in-house thing by Transport for Greater Manchester? Would love more details. www.gmmusiccommission.co.uk/news-insight... #GMMC

Amazing to be able to place the origins of the game in Edinburgh. I think being played somewhere around modern day Fountainbridge or Gorgie?

200 years of Edinburgh football: #OTD 20 March 1826, a receipt to John Hope for the rental of Dalry Park, for archery in summer and his Foot-Ball Club in winter. The club - the world's first - was founded in 1824 and played on one of the fields near Dalry House.

I also wonder why UK doesn’t make more of tidal. There’s been plenty of time to expand from successful pilot projects… #Orkney bsky.app/profile/dash...

It might be possible to accept some small loss of farmland/nature for wind or solar power IF the UK were making serious use of its massive #TidalPower potential. But it's making virtually none, for some obscure, pig-headed, Whitehall reason. tinyurl.com/mpvebf7f

Ellen’s Glen - a few years after the trees were cut down and umpteen years since the bank collapsed… the wall is reinstated and fences are away! 🎉 Bollards back in too. Bittersweet for us - a certain someone would’ve loved extra wheeling room but been annoyed at no fences to shake. 🥺 @spokes.org.uk

Some good points to put to businesses about car parking versus public transport. Written about a neighbourhood in Vancouver, Canada but applies to cities in UK or around the world…

Vision Zero Vancouver@visionzerovancouver.ca · last yr.

Is parking really the best use of our limited curbspace? Great piece by @michaelhall.bsky.social "While curbspace for parked cars is a finite resource that plateaued when the concrete curbs were first poured, transit is a source of business that has incredible growth potential."
