I'm staying at someone's house this week—a friend of a friend of a friend. Turns out he made the kitchen table and chairs that my father-in-law gifted us over 36 years ago when we got married. And he regularly did business with my father-in-law. What a crazily small world.
Preached twice this morning. Thought the first was a stinker; felt much better about the second. Later I learned most who heard both thought the first was better. Preachers: we’re usually not great at judging our own sermons, or what God may have been doing through them.

I was recently introduced to the ministry of @wordpartners. I respect the people in this ministry, and I love the clarity of their mission, vision, and strategy.
