Turns out burning things releases co2 + air pollution together. You can’t clean up greenhouse gases but cherry pick the air pollution that partly reflects sunlight. You could only reinstate it by releasing an even huger amount of CO2, which leads to mega heatwaves later

This week we’re using a holiday club by Harrison Park. Vs the bus, it’s dramatically quicker to drive the kids in (lift sharing with others), drive back out to Currie, then bike commute to Harrison Park plus a bit extra to the office. Weird but true

I had a look at this today. After the light goes red, the pedestrian phase follows. It feels like you can complete your two-stage turn then as you’re not held behind a solid white line, which will surely cause OUTRAGE. If you don’t, the cumulative time to turn right will be enormous.

Two stage right turns for cyclists have been introduced on Summerhall. This will make it safer and easier for cyclists to turn right onto Hope Park Terrace and from the opposite direction on Summerhall, right onto Melville Drive.

This used to be a protected cycle lane, but when the council added a crossing, for some reason they removed cycling and painted the zig zags so far into the road, it created 24/7 free “crossing parking” for the shops. @rantyhighwayman.bsky.social might enjoy this novel innovation 😉
