some printer proofs from "Dave O dispatch volume three" a double sided barn-door trifold featuring a *possibly undelivered/refused* love letter aerogramme from Nepal, August 1, 1973 + with a still life from a desk at the (possibly real) "holy donkeys" Annapurna guesthouse with poetry and flowers
todays riding bus to hospital outfit / mostly burnt orange with tan & shades of link/beige/yellow rolling back seat #peace
whilst in bed of late, sent so many postcards, letters & long-form electronic mails ~ always seeking substantialness also send 2 typewriters by kuroneko for repair from (what must be a fascinating) shop in Kobe
back on the bus, to hospital (outfit = greens) watching rice fields turn into pre-fab houses towers go up & fave noodle shop across street closes always seeking community hubs & human hangs (beyond postoffices) lucky charms to. e good 'citizen'
out of bed & changed pajamas for snappy outfit for a walk to the post office on a beautiful temperate day ~ sat on a bench halfway there to collect myself and made a lil video. If you need some company for 10 minutes, here's a #postcard chitchat #diary youtu.be/r61D-Rk2XUA

in other super important news, after years of trying, I finally developed a very strong and irresistible affinity to Dutch salty licorice {I'm here to share important things}
these charming little "on the road" and "Dharma bums" olden pins, along with some stickers for "lowell celebrates Kerouac" arrived by post (amongst other items) A wider view reveals an in situ still life of the caboose desk
Typhoon whether has passed so will go out to the kura today to pull out two typewriters to send to an elderly gentleman in Kobe for servicing (there's a great story here) and will look for an R.E.M. as a gift for a friend's kid
Secret note: if you're not in my "postal club" put your info here. no guarantees, & no cost (sometimes i vend little poetry books) of course none of the info is shared in anyway (except on mail) i do not have an email list but threatening to do since 1995 daveostory.com/more-daveo/p...

making postcards, cards, letters, lists… I mean I always do these sorts of things but I'm really trying to break out of these blues by staying in touch with lovely folks. Deleting various apps, staying off the news, medications and tiny tasks I'll keep trying to get one to you, or two
submitted a very important application packet which could be measured of stacked height and/or total number of paper clips, with a day to spare. have a stamp to prove it. A very dapper administrative scrivener assisted the process Include included photos of me as Santa Claus #CommunityService

hooray for personal archaeology! Always be documenting, own your own archive
My tape, along with the scrapbook/photo album of my trip. Some 'personal archaeology' that @daveo.bsky.social would be proud of! It was only recently, thanks to translation apps, that I was finally able to track the singer, Najiba Abdullah, down on YouTube.
📰 New article in today's Guardian: "Abandoned, dismissed and gaslighted: there is no excuse for the way M.E. sufferers have been betrayed." Huge thanks to George Monbiot for trying to keep this issue in the public eye. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Abandoned, dismissed and gaslighted: there is no excuse for the way ME sufferers have been betrayed | George Monbiot
Changes in guidance and science seem to have little impact on millions of devastated lives. It’s a social crisis playing out behind closed doors, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

@batchhockey.bsky.social coates looking great with bains (bit of a forgotten man in the preseason banter). think it's best to let them cook together in the AHL to start the season rather than squeezing them in to a NHL lineup which is gonna have a little bit of growing pains and uneven success?
hey anyway, since a colossal G.I. plus MECFS *incident* on August 2 and very extended crash mode, I'm finally starting to eat some actual food… Reminding myself by telling y'all to keep it slow and don't get too excited about it. Still not venturing out and about but having 'breakfast' at noon 30
reactions to my talk included: "you look so relaxed and comfortable on stage" "yeah watched some of it…" "started it but fell asleep lol" "a near perfect talk" "felt like I was inside your brain" "I've studied the handout for days and keep it with me" how about you?
still trying to gain my footing after the #SlowFraser trip, have moved to soup yesterday spending time with administrative scrivener and using my paperwork skills for "reasons" today printed the heck out of some fresh postcards to try to recalibrate my head & vibes thank you for kindnesses
I like a tidy lil home cause I'm the Marie Kondo of Japan and also like to document, savour and respect all the items which came back from the trip. So started with a subset of tasty bits to stash in the pantry I wrote a long blurb about all but doesn't fit here
looking to up my soup and one dish cooking techniques for the autumn Related: we have some preschool event coming up to dig up sweet potatoes. And when I say "we" I'll be there in a lawn chair with ukulele but I'll eat one of the hot beauties fresh off the charcoal ;)
hello people of Bluesky, I don't hang out here much but stuck in bed in a extended MECFS + GI crash and just looking to say: "Who are you? What you up to? Are you kind and friendly and not yammering on about celebrity pablum one and the end of the world etc.?" I'm friendly but slow #peace
thinking about Rachel Corrie a lot these days rip for standing in front of the bulldozers couple decades ago She was from Olympia and traveled far to effectuate justice on the ground against oppression Everyone deserves safe homes, kindness and respect are superpowers
dear @jjwalsh.bsky.social saw *somewhere* you're coming to speak at John R's event at Okayama University in Oct! Oh my gosh, super excited. {I'm not very Internety these days so got tracked down how to register or tickets or whatever} PS I did talk in #Vancouver youtu.be/lSsFz0umIng?...

dig me on a stage riffing (for well over an hour ;)) about pocket knives, mimeograph, telegram, apocalypses, revolutions, modems, hippies, laundry, dreams and schemes (at a planetarium in Vancouver for an event about *AI*) youtu.be/lSsFz0umIng?...

"Effervesence" for @raulpachecovega.bsky.social {started as a poem, turned into a prose of memories, complete with illegibility, misspellings, and smudges for my favourite fountain pen with no shortage of heart and honesty, please regard my humble offering, such as it is}
