Dumb question, as someone who really doesn't understand social media beyond "I post about stuff I do here." and "Hey, this person makes cool stuff - I'm gonna follow 'em!" Is there some sort of guide for things like "Why does my feed have a month-old post, then one from today, then a week-old one?"

So as part of slowly going from "Dave" to "Marci", a very good friend took me makeup shopping for the first time, and tonight she helped me try it out. I'm genuinely in shock - I didn't know how much difference it would make. Like a whole lot of experimenting and practice is needed, but...wow...

The new version of "Belrye and the Summoner" has been posted! This is an absolutely massive expansion, in terms of raw chunks added. It can be found over at my website, magicfoxgames.com, along with a little bit of behind the scenes stuff in the Updates section! :-)

So I did end up hitting an unexpected snag with the downloadable version of BatS - two of them, actually. The first is that since it wasn't designed for a terminal, each chunk is much longer than a terminal screen, so you have to awkwardly scroll up after each choice - really annoying...

There will always be people who appreciate what YOU make, it just might take them a while to find you.

"Gloria the Goat" part 21 has just been posted, to FurAffinity and my site (magicfoxgames.com)! I'm trying to ease myself back into the series after a way-too-long hiatus, so this month is just a short continuation. But the good news is that it will be back to an every-month series again! :-)

Finally switched my youtube channel over to MarciTheTechMare. That's been the place I'm 3rd most afraid about coming out as trans. Fingers crossed!

Alright, "Belrye and the Summoner" is going to my editor today, and this version will be going live on the 27th (after the Gloria story on the 20th). The standalone version of BatS will be coming out in August. Linux - day 1 Windows - hopefully day 1, but September if cross-compiling is a struggle

So not gonna lie, a big part of the delay on the next Gloria story has been that while I know where I want the series to go longer term, I'm kinda struggling to get them there. An upside to how I write it is that it feels more realistic when things can be messy. The downside is "Oh crap, what now?"

Alright, cleaning up the next version of "Belrye and the Summoner" to go live later this month. We're going from I think 2,200-something chunks to 2,911. It's amazing what a difference coding it like a game instead of a book makes, lol.

So remember that thing I've said about how all this rewrite stuff makes BatS faster to add onto? Well, we're barely into July and the end-of-July update will already be the biggest update ever in terms of raw chunks added. I'll be doing more while avoiding loud, scary fireworks this weekend. :-)

With everything in gaming news lately about live services, I wanted to put the word out that the downloadable version of BatS is about half-done and will mirror the online version. It will support Windows and Linux - Mac support possibly later. It's a big part of why I did the Perl>C++ change. :-)

A new version of "Belrye and the Summoner" was just posted over on magicfoxgames.com - this one's more a behind the scenes update, which will let next month focus on adding more content! So I'm kinda getting pulled into the World Cup (rooting for a country that isn't my own.) You know what some station should do? "For every game, we're gonna give ten fun or interesting facts about both countries in tonight's match, picked by people from them!" It'd be educational and awesome. :-)

Oh! Also the next version of BatS will be going live this upcoming Tuesday evening (Central Time). As I've said, this is mostly a huge behind-the-scenes update, but in a lot of ways it paves the way for the July update and the future. July's update is already being planned. It's gonna be big. ;-)

So with it being Pride Month, now seems a good time to ask. :-) "Belrye and the Summoner" currently has female/male/nonbinary as options for genders/pronouns. Are there others you would like to see added? A benefit of the code changes is that it's easy to add now. :-) (continued)

Editing/testing has been going well for the new version of BatS. Given that it is a total conversion to a new language with very different syntax (even for text strings), there have been quite a few bugs found and fixed. Also, I took a first crack at a downloadable version. More on that later!

The next "Belrye and the Summoner" version goes into testing/editing today. This is the C++ rewrite, so this version is mostly about building a stable and easy-to-grow foundation and adding a couple quality-of-life things. Even at its current size, it's noticeably faster than the Perl version. :-)

Alright, bit of an out-of-character post from me. Do you ever see ads or things that are clearly meant to appeal to you in a thinly-veiled NSFW way and they just... don't? Like, furry art? Yup! Monster art? Absolutely. Any combination of "bits"? Sure! Humans? ...eh... Just been on my mind lately.

So it has been a frankly embarrasing amount of time since the last Gloria the Goat story while I've been doing a ton of work on BatS. With BatS stabilizing, though, it's time to change that. On July 20th, Gloria makes a triumphant return. No excuses - roast me like a marshmallow if I miss it. ;-)

Back when I was in school, I was taught in that you italicize book names. Because, y'know, it's *a book*. But only put titles for TV shows, movies, comics, etc. in quotes. And you know what? I don't think that's right. They all deserve italics. Just had to bust out the soapbox for that one. :-)

So as someone who is still very new to social media, and with everything going on lately as far as NSFW stuff, looking for some friendly guidance, please. About 95% of my writing is NSFW, though I only say here, "I posted a thing on my site or FA!" Should I be still tagging my posts here as NSFW?
