Aside from the rough recovery this week, my HP laptop went down with a hard drive issue. So, that needs to be dealt with before I tackle the studio setup and get to mixing.

AKA Steven E. McDonald, writer. Musician, writer, poet mentored by Michael Harnett, mostly alone, tired and now here. Dismayed at watching the country that fought fascism to an end bowing down to fascism at home.
Well, that's Hotelia 2026 wrapped up, an event even more queer coded than the original. I was last man out, young Basil (who did the collage wall) preceding me by only a few hours. My plan to write in the mornings went sideways, alas, and I only produced two poems this year.
Hotelia 2026 is running now and we're about to ramp into the weekend when *everything* goes Barmy Army. You can also pick up my Hotelia 2025 EP at DavidAlexanderMcDonald.bandcamp.com for all of $3. Or get all of my work there!
It's very likely the end of SpaceX. Musk needed to be completely ringfenced from the company, but that effort failed when he forced the stock swap for xAI.
Stay as far away as you possibly can from the SpaceX IPO. It has the makings of a once-in-a-century pump and dump. Don't be left holding the bag.
Of course, as a project goes operatic in scale my brain tries to crash me emotionally.
Wrestling with the big thing, a sudden idea that got inflated to giant size but not by me.
Miami Loco 2026. Compersion performing at 411Space despite issues with their van requiring a rescue. Once again, a great show. I have a video but it's too long. Boo.
Miami Loco 2026. Miami and Globe are side by side mining towns in Arizona. I was screwing up with video, so this is abrupt and missing a pump -- the one actually making the *putt* sound.
Miami Loco 2016. I played music -- using guitar and effects pedals for the first time in one of these -- read a short story, and performed poetry, which accidentally themed itself (work written in Ireland, though I did get two clown poems in.)
That would be "See You On The Other Side" by Brian Briggs (actually the late John Holbrook, who fell backwards into being Bearsville's best engineer.) Heard it on KCRW, where it became a radio hit. It took *five years* to track it down. youtu.be/UhM7B27SMvg?...

Tell me about a song that blew you away the first time you heard it, where you had to immediately drop everything to learn what it was and who it was by, bonus points if it was pre-Shazam and you had to *work* to find out. (Brought to you by a re-listen of “I’m Straight” by The Modern Lovers)
Here we go again. I'm set to read again, as well as performing experimental music behind Ken Boe and in conjunction with others at 411 Space.

I'm not normally a fall risk, honestly. But when the toe of my boot goes under a pipe when I'm paying attention to laundry it's 90% certain I'm going down in the most ungainly manner possible. Fortunately I do know how to fall...unfortunately it was an awkward spot to land, and gravelly.

But people facing down the snake in the grass at a church are guilty of civil rights felonies. A picture of American hypocrisy right here.
How horrifying. This should never be allowed to happen. I'm so disgusted. #USDemocracy
I’m back after a rather dull adventure to Sierra Vista. It should have been a six hour round trip but ended up as a thirteen hour slog as multiple transportation operations failed when the return trip was triggered. This includes Uber and Lyft and all of the medical transports. 1/2
And now I’m back on Adderall as well as Depakote and, man, the difference. However, as when I originally started years ago (decades!) — in my forties — an immediate result was a bout of hyperfocus. Not as sustained as I used to have, though, as I’m a Crusty Old. This is also timed release.
So, yeah, first there was the medication change, putting me back on Depakote, then a second change to increase the dosage. The idea is to reestablish my baseline and stop me from crashing as badly as I do. What it's actually done is reactivate the full range of my triple cycle....

Goddamnit. Transportation has screwed up even more than usual. Now I can't even get a human on the line.
This sort of response needs to be thrown in the faces of the live maggots (bots and troll farmers aren't worth the effort.) Also point out that Fuckwit Mussolini keeps posting shite that depicts him as a king...one that pours shit over Americans. These fools are epically bad at gaslighting.
Yes! I see this comment over and over again, well, ...if he was a King, ...he wouldn’t let you protest. What do you think he’s aiming for genius? Pressuring law firms, universities, the press, charging his political opponents, apparently Americans are not just bad with history, they suck at math.
Good deal for some lucky person!

Bisbee, staying weird, isn't doing No Kings on the 18th but on the 17th as the Bisbee 1000 Stair Climb takes over the crumbling hills of Old Bisbee on the 18th. I think climbers should carry No Kings signs, frankly.
I've known Sandy for over fifty years. I nearly married her former roommate before the universe knocked sense into me.
I'm in an odd mental space. Not sure which setup will be used on Saturday, my birthday is tomorrow (and as always, no gifts as such -- gift cards etc are welcome, though, as I need new bits and pieces), I'm up to three dives in the Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber... 1/2
I get to spend two hours a day for the next two months at two atmospheres of pressure, equivalent to being 333 feet deep in water. The choices to amuse me...a movie, or sleep. If sleep they wake you every thirty minutes.
