Jason Botterill secretly kind of cooked this offseason. #SeaKraken have done a really nice job. No dumb moves, focusing on the right things, tried creative ideas, and are on a good trajectory. Other teams the last 10 days have done some real questionable things. Not Seattle.

Not many people know about this, but once you’ve completed watching your 50th NHL game, YOU (yes you!) receive a no-trade clause. A team representative should have reached out to you for details. Please contact them if you have not heard back yet. 

As far as I can tell, there have only been 11 explicit no-trade-clauses in the ENTIRE HISTORY of the NBA, and they’re all franchise cornerstones + Bradley Beal and Carmelo Anthony. The NHL currently has about 250. I’m all for player empowerment, but this is bad for the NHL.
