A cosmic rose ๐นโจ This beautiful pair of interacting galaxies is Arp 273, around 300 million light-years away in Andromeda. Last night it was clear and dark enough to image! So this is our next little target. #astrophotography #cosmic

Our section in the school art gallery. Our theme was Attenborough so ofcourse we looked at our beautiful little blue dot ๐ So proud of my 9 year old artists ๐จ ๐ #art #Attenborough #earth
Love our new learning display. A nod to Attenborough. ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ #thereisnoplanetB Our cardboard artwork was based on a book 'Art Shaped' by @darrellwakelam.bsky.social who we just love โค๏ธ The children then hand drew & painted the earth & wrote letters to the climate control minister to ask for change.
May The Fourth be with you! To all my fellow nerd fans, I hope you have a great day.
Obsessed with the Lunar craters that my class of 8yr olds asked to do. They look ๐. Then I found these images of my own lunar sketching and composite moon collection on my dear friends wall. To finish, my absolute joy bundle, who was also giddy to see the Moon by @lukejerram.bsky.social
Nebula traitor... Spiral beauty M109 shining in Ursa Major ๐ A barred spiral galaxy around 55 million light years away, with tightly wound arms and a bright central core. Hidden among the stars, but packed with billions more โญ #Astrophotography #M109 #Galaxy #DeepSky
Needle Galaxy ๐ชก- a beautiful edge on spiral seen almost perfectly side on from our viewpoint here on Earth. That bright central bulge is packed with stars, while the thin dark lane is dust blocking the light behind it, giving it that striking needle like appearance. #astro
The Black Eye Galaxy (M64) 17 million light-years away in Coma Berenices and roughly 54,000 light-years across. Image taken last night 1hr per LRGB @Optolong_filter filter #astronomy #space
Another 3hrs (1hr per filter) on the Spider nebula this week. ๐ท #astrophotography #space Feels good to get fresh data on a brand new target ๐
It's been a long time coming... Spider nebula is our current target but we will lose it from our view soon. Sadly we need SO much more data on this...so maybe a no go until next year. Here is a rough process of the data so far though #astronomy #astrophotography
The skies have been truly awful ๐ so we have found some untouched data we captured several weeks apart and slung it together. I processed it last night, resulting in this version of the Rosette Nebula. Hope you like it #astrophotography #space #sciart
Two nebulae framed together, the Jellyfish and the Monkey Head. The bright star by the Jellyfish is Propus. #Astronomy #Astrophotography
Our latest target...9hrs. Need LOTS more. You can make out what it is though (I hope) #astrophotography #space #astronomy
๐โจ Merry Christmas! โจ๐ Grateful for the love, the lessons, and the little moments that made this year what it was. Wishing you full hearts, good food, and time with the people who matter most. May your coffee be warm and your holidays be filled with peace and joy. โค๏ธ
Still one of my favourite winter sky objects The Great Orion Nebula (M42) is one of the brightest star-forming regions in our galaxy, visible even to the naked eye. #astrophotography #astronomy
14 years ago today I had to say goodbye to my Dad. He always told me that a lost loved one is the brightest star in the night sky. I use the night sky to feel close to him, it brings me peace. This one is for you Dad, I miss you.๐๐ซ ๐๐จ๐งช๐ญ๐ก๐ท
