Over the last few weeks we've been hearing a Green Woodpecker from our house but never been able to see it. Today the noises seemed unusual and in different places. After a fleeting glimpse of flight towards a tree, finally spotted a pair. Think one on left is a little youngster.

Popped down to the sea (locally known as The Hole) to see if there were any shore birds. There weren't but we did see juvenile wagtails, lots of sparrows, a rock pipit, collard doves and a *weasel*!!! #AvonBirds

We’ve seen less finches since stopping feeding seeds in May. The good thing is you can garden for birds. Today this young goldfinch spent a while enjoying these sorrel seeds. We’ve also go teasels that aren’t quite ready for them yet. Plants are a great way to feed finches safely. @rspb.bsky.social

So excited to discover that the little grebes have had little little grebes (humbugs) We thought there were four but there must have been an extra one hiding on their parent because later there were five! Not great pics as they were far and away. #PWNR #AvonBirds
