Husband, father, grandfather, Catholic Deacon. Paulist Deacon Affiliate. One of the hosts of DeaconsPod. I know a thing or two about the law. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

@deacongreg.bsky.social spent 25 years as a writer at CBS News. I got to know him back in the halcyon days of early blogging circa 2009. In this episode of @deaconspod.bsky.social, he speaks with @deaconmike.bsky.social and Deacon Mike Berstene about Pope Leo, being a cancer survivor, and more:

"You never know how God is going to work – and the way he is going to use you," says Deacon Greg Kandra. "Every moment of your life is formation." @deacongreg.bsky.social is our guest on this brand new episode of @deaconspod.bsky.social hosted by @deaconmike.bsky.social and Deacon Mike Berstene:

Say the word and you'll be free Say the word and be like me Say the word I'm thinking of Have you heard the word is love? It's so fine, it's sunshine It's the word, love In the beginning I misunderstood But now I've got it, the word is good The Beatles I approve this message.

Kathryn Muensterman has written an important essay in @commonwealmagazine.org and we had a great conversation about “From Summit to Source”. What is your response to the Eucharist? What is our response to the presence of Christ in our lives?

Had a lovely conversation with Kathryn Muensterman about her recent @commonwealmagazine.org article on the Eucharist, "From Summit to Source," with Paulist Deacon Affiliate @deacondrew.bsky.social that I think you, too, will find enriching. megaphone.link/SM2658118769

This seems like, and I admit, most likely is, an inhospitable thing to say, but why do people set themselves up on the beach 15 feet away when they have a whole beach. In front of me. Please feel free to tell me all that’s wrong with me.

Acts: “Stephen said to the people, the elders, and the scribes: “You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always oppose the Holy Spirit; you are just like your ancestors.” If I spoke to my congregation like this, someone might throw fruit at me. But I doubt they would stone me
