I was at the thrift store and found a sealed copy of Beaches on VHS and the soundtrack on cassette tape! Once or twice a year, I buy a bottle of wine and drunkenly mourn the death of Barbara Hershey while Bette Midler sings "Wind Beneath My Wings" It is literally the gayest thing I do.

Found some absolute treasures on Good Squid and decided to splurge a little. Highlights are Stray Dog: Kerberos Panzer Cops, The Living Skeleton, The War In Space, and Liquid Sky. If you're looking for cheap import Laserdiscs, Good Squid is probably the best you're gonna find on the web.

You owe it to yourself to watch Thumb Wars on a tiny little CRT. I absolutely love this shit.

FOUND ONE! My childhood sick day TV! The Panasonic CT-5511 Electrotune is such a fantastic little set, and I got this one CHEAP! I'm very happy... now I just need to find a matching Panasonic portable VCR.

JACKPOT! Local thrift had some excellent choices. Plenty of double features, Planet of the Apes collection, and a grip of Kiss, Crüe, and Leppard tapes... also Naked Lunch. $1.50 each was impossible to resist.

LOGGING ON

On the drive home from feeding my sister's chickens, I happened upon this forlorn Magnavox RS1960, abandoned in a gravel turnout. I couldn't leave it there.

Found at the local thrift store for $1.50 As crazy as it sounds, I've never actually seen this movie with the English dub... and it's honestly not bad.

I was shopping for tapes at the Goodwill, and this super nice lady asked me if I actually watched movies on tape. I told her that I do, and she's giving me her whole collection. This is the first batch. She's just happy that they're going to someone who actually enjoys them.

I'm watching Spy Hard, and just noticed that Pat Morita plays a gay waiter in one of the scenes.

I happened upon this laserdisc copy of Cyclone Z (Dragons Forever) at Game Shop Downstairs in San Jose, CA. It's gonna be fun to watch a movie in Chinese with Japanese subtitles.
