Our government is now paying Middle East allies $5B (of our money) to enhance their energy infrastructure to adapt to a world where the Strait of Hormuz is no longer consistently open. This is an acknowledgment of a humiliating loss to Iran.

Thom Tillis, Bill Cassiday, and John Cornyn had moments of clarity where they had a spine once or twice. And yet after getting railroaded for it, they still can’t bring themselves to do the right thing. And these guys are supposed to be….”the good ones?”

Thom Tillis voted to confirm these people. Now he wants credit for telling us how terrible they are. And oh so conveniently, Thom Tillis has a new book to sell. Spare us.

Corporate capture of the political system halts innovation and leads to low growth. It entrenches elite corporate interests, keeps wealth locked at the top, and smothers risk-taking, job creation, and small business. And then the economy suffers.

Yesterday SCOTUS heard arguments on whether we can sue oil companies for climate change. We all know they are responsible; and so do they. That’s why they rushed to their “Big Daddy” Supreme Court to try to argue they are not.

Today is the first day of the new Supreme Court term. And as this Court has done in years past, they will once again seek to mainstream conservative fantasies into law, including: - establishing a 2A right to AR15s - saying we can’t sue oil companies for climate change

The Constitution is clear that Congress can to regulate the Court, including its size and jurisdiction. Statements like this reflect how the Court has been acting — that it is above the Constituion rather than within it. He is a living embodiment of the problems with lifetime appointments.

Reminder that SCOTUS is directly responsible for the political extremism and instability of the past two years because it could have stopped Republican gerrymanders, it refused, and those gerrymanders resulted in Republicans barely winning the House in 2024. SCOTUS must be reformed.

Predators and perpetrators will always gaslight their victims that there “was nothing wrong” with what happened. They prey upon the victim’s shock and trauma to try to disorient the victim’s memory of the traumatic experience. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/01/n...

How a Cornell Student Went From Shame to Action

The woman known as “Jane Doe” was initially embarrassed about what happened at a fraternity party in 2024, but soon concluded: “I was assaulted.”

The thing to remember about Eric Schmitt and Katie Britt is that they planned this out in advance. This plot was hatched, passed several layers of internal review, was approved by Schmitt and Britt and no one caught the obvious mistake. These people are making decisions about our future.

Excusing elected officials who spout outrageous lies as “just politics” is immoral and must end. This attitude keeps clowns in office who don’t take the job seriously and don’t care about our children’s futures. Today, I’m talking about Eric Schmitt.

extremely weird shit during the Jack Smith hearing -- Sen. Eric Schmitt's team briefly displays a poster board that Schmitt claims contains evidence Smith committed perjury, but then Schmitt's team takes it down before anybody can read it and refuses to show Smith what it says

In 2005, Bush + Cheney were such a threat to American values (eg, torture, breaking laws, ignoring Congress and the courts) that former VP Walter Mondale started teaching about it at University of Minnesota. I took his class.

John D Rockefeller Jr. purposefully bought all of Jackson Hole, just below the Tetons, and donated it to the people so that it would never be developed and always set aside as a National Park. That was back when billionaires were worth a damn. www.washingtonpost.com/climate-envi...
