Dan Heng... (He relents with a deep sigh.) I will admit that he has not been without his moments, though we both knew this would be inevitable.
You are so cold to our only son.
Not only impatient, but stubborn too. "Do you think it bothers me?" He didn't mind one bit. If anything, he ... wanted to see to his care. "If you truly wished for me to relax, you would have prepared my breakfast for me. Now it is only one I have to make, instead of two."
"I know, I know," A dramatic sigh, but he was not going to apologize for eating the noodles. "I just wanted you to relax for once. You've been taking care of me so well."
Yes ... He has a face. You're only making this harder for yourself.
I know, I know. But look at his little face.
A resigned sigh passed his lips, neither surprised nor disappointed, but a mysterious third thing. "So impatient." Had he only waited, he'd have enjoyed a more satisfying breakfast, prepared exactly the way one Hunter knew how he liked. Alas. "I would have made you something far better."
They are both captured by one another now, heh. "Yes." He's not even going to deny it.
My husband whenever I plan on getting lost:
take my hand, you strange little creature.
The capturer has become the captured, locked in place by one particularly persuasive tail. A tired hum, before his head suddenly picked up, brow pinched as he registered the unmistakable scent of instant noodles. At this hour? Dan Heng... "...Were you eating noodles?"
He has been captured! Dan Heng let himself be pulled back over to Blade, releasing a pleased hum. "Good morning ~" He's wrapping his tail around Blade's waist.
A sight that has yet to grow old, and may never will. Fingers hooked around the red ribbons laced up the back, pulling the dragon back towards him. Hands settled upon his hips from behind, face finding the space between his neck and shoulder. "Morning."
Good morning. (Casually just appears from somewhere, wearing only Blade's old coat and some leggings)
Sharp eyes tracked each movement in composed silence, lingering for a beat on the hand resting over his revolver before returning to the Ranger's face. Arms remained crossed against his chest, his blade tucked within the fold of limbs despite the casual threat. "That's quite the shopping list."
β β Thinkin' about it. That price tag ain't exactly pocket change. Could do a whole lotta good with that money ... Rebuild homes, feed some hungry bellies, get medicine fer the sick ... Not t' mention my buddies at the Xianzhou would love t' put you back in the slammer.β β
"That we are." A light laugh escaped him, a quiet drop of fondness hidden within the amusement. "Your precognition is not required to know at least that much." Navigating a familiar path through the dark, he gave a cursory routine warning of 'mind your eyes' before flicking the lights back on.
"But we are still connected by our bonds," He nodded, chuckling softly as he let the cat hop down before finally standing. It wouldn't do to lurk in the darkness, even if it was comforting. "I do not need to predict a thing to know that such an endeavour would lead to a disaster."
"That would be putting it lightly." Nobody seemed to enjoy the sound of the Ravager's voice more than the man himself. As for his plot with the Express's Navigator, Blade had no personal stakes in, though Asat Pramad ... certainly committed to the bit.
"I heard... that one is a real chatterbox... tsk... Kinda creepy too. Kept talking about his "daughter", but... oof..."
A low hum of acknowledgement returned to the nicety, listening more carefully than his demeanour may have suggested. "It would be rather inconvenient for you if that turns out to be the case." A week with no progress, and now a Hunter who has no understanding of how the magic worked.
" a pleasure to meet you." He kept his tone polite enough as he continued to walk to their destination. " It's been inactive for about a week or so now. I've tried every method I can- but its making me wonder if it has to be reactivated through Natlan and not here. . ."
(A short, amused breath escaped him, throwing the dragon a playful wink, before knocking the contents of the cup back in one go - savouring the pleasant, smooth warmth as it went down.)
(Lifts his cup in toast) Asshole. (Soft chuckle)
You have a way with words. (Filling both the cups, he lifted his in toast.) To romance and shit, I guess.
(Woah, drinking) Uh... romance and shit, I guess?
(Producing two cups.) What are we drinking to?
Everyone is drinking... Maybe I should- (No, Dan Heng. No.)
He followed after him, ducking into the back seat & closing the door behind himself. Settling beside Dan Heng, their knees brushed in the limited space. Once he'd given the driver the address, Blade leaned back and fastened his seatbelt, setting their bag from the gift shop earlier in the footwell.
Dan Heng thought about everything as they walked towards the taxis, humming softly. The air felt nice after the mugginess, but being close to Blade was good too. Perfect balance. As they approached the taxis, Dan Heng went into the car, sitting and waiting for Blade to get in.

He followed in tow, his attention briefly settling on the young man as he offered his name. "Blade." A natural conversationalist, he gave little else by way of introduction. "How long has the scroll been inactive?" he asked, seeking to determine how long Ororon had been on the planet.
" Sure thing , please follow me." He motioned for the other to follow him. It had been a couple days since he arrived and in those few days he did manage to find a small place to stay , and it allowed him to keep the scroll safe. " Ah , apologies. My name's Ororon. "
Three guards kept steady watch while he slept. Blade supposed even the Express's guard needed to let his own guard down once in a while. When the cat reached for Dan Heng's cheek again, he carefully shifted his legs off his lap and rose, moving to scoop Mochi up, cradling the cat against his chest.
Bluey just made that weird chirping again, but did nothing more, settled on the arm of the chair like a guarding gargoyle. Dan Heng somehow remained asleep for a while, before Mochi got hungry and decided to paw at his cheek.
He couldn't help with the spell, though if there was something amiss or out of place, he may be able to spot it. It was a long shot, but perhaps Dan Heng might have some information on these scrolls in the Archives that could prove useful. "Take me to it."
" I do understand how it works- at least to a certain point. This one does feel slightly older than the ones I'm used to seeing." He had a hand on his chin , pondering about that specific scroll. Of course his curiosity got the better of him and he had gone right through it without ++

He felt Dan Heng's weight gradually settle against him, the tension leaving his body little by little until his breathing had slowed, falling into sync with Blade's own. It was... nice. More than nice, though the complete lack of mischief was almost suspicious.
Dan Heng relaxed as he felt the familiar warmth underneath him, the steady beating of Blade's heart. He let his own breathing slow, matching the pace of Blade's. How nice it was, to be at peace in someone's presence. After everything they went through, this felt so peaceful.
He gave a quiet hum of agreement. βCan't disagree. We ran into one of them recently." Bothering Silver Wolf and being a general nuisance.
"Indeed... They are a complete asshole and I hate everything about it..." Dramatic sigh. "The Ravagers are annoying too."
It was unfortunate that the stranger who seemed so sensitive to auditory stimuli found themselves in Duomension City, of all places. "I know somewhere." His pace slowed slightly, allowing the other to keep up with his long strides, hands slipping into his coat pockets. "It should be quieter."
He simply sighs, and didn't say a single word, it was hard to think with all of this noise. He preferred the quiet over places like this. Chaotic was something he was used to, but it would of been nice not to have it around today. He was surprised he didn't question the position of his arm on
Hm... (He took a long, thoughtful pause.) Troublingly so.
Heh, maybe, but you still like me~
"He does." He gave a quiet hum, letting Phainon voice his frustrations. "The Aeons aren't exactly known for respecting boundaries. I doubt Nanook is particularly concerned with your objections."
"That's good. He deserves it, after what I've heard," He nodded. "I wish I could turn them off. I'm not even an actual Ravager... They need to leave me be."
. . . (Still so terrible at flirting.) They'd only grow back.
I would probably have to like... Open you up and remove your vital organs or something I guess? Fire doesn't do shit and stabbing definitely does not...
