my original idea for the kirby dio was to do it in a cheap cloche. whispy was designed to fit in there, but it was just too cramped once i made everyone else, so i made the base a lot bigger. he can still be contained though.

with my current abilities when i find a time machine i'll be well placed to work on 40 year old video game magazine covers

the stump has part of a toilet paper roll inside it, so that helped me knock it out faster. i didn't think to do that with whispy at the time, so he was just a lot of hammering tinfoil into a cylinder then sculpting over that.

here's my handmade kirby dio. i did everything you see here with polymer clay, foam, acrylic paint, and air dry clay. whispy woods in particular was an undertaking and he's the biggest clay model i've made.
