I can't believe I have to keep defending EOW on Reddit. I don't even like EOW, but people's weird reactionary resistance to it is honestly mind-boggling. It's not that bad, people! You're not going to die if someone says "God be with you".

TEC should have a unified system for licensed lay ministers like the CoE and they should be allowed to wear a blue tippet.

In the church this morning I passed two younger women waiting for the elevators. One says "you know, once in college I gave up elevators for Lent." The friend says, "Oh, yeah?" to which she replies, "Yeah. I'm not even Catholic but everyone was giving up something so I did too."

Served the chalice at a wedding today with many non-Episcopalian who came for communion and I only had to ask people to actually eat the Eucharist twice, very good

this thread got me thinking about all the weird things I see in TEC churches that are not rubrical, running the gamut from the celebrant adding "this is God's table, not ours, and all are welcome at his feast" instead of the usual invitation to communion and explicitly inviting the unbaptized

Alas, only in German, but this article on a place in Berlin that you can pay to make your book collection look thoroughly read (bent corners, broken spines, beverage marks; premium beverage marks and annotations are extra upgrades) is breaking my brain and needs sharing.

I knew this data format was old, but this is ridiculous

I am really coming to dislike the "inclusive language" versions of TEC eucharistic prayers, especially when they do things like replace "Lord" with just "God." There are other issues like stripping out male-gender pronouns but this one gets me the most. It feels like misplaced egalitarianism
