I spoke with @deluzio.house.gov regarding the $1 TRILLION Medicaid & MAJOR SNAP cuts that will begin on January 1, 2027 from the BIG UGLY BILL. His POWERFUL response: "people who are eligible are going to lose out...these cuts will take away healthcare & food from people & we gotta repeal it"!

Trump's wreckage of our economy is a symptom of long-running problems (de-industrialization) and patchwork solutions (crazy tariffs, tax credits on the margins).  We need a bold industrial policy to reverse this and put us on a path to be a country that builds big things again.

The House may be in recess, but we need to keep sounding the alarm on the "Taking Benefits from America's Veterans Act". As @deluzio.house.gov points out, troops downrange right now will have fewer benefits than other veterans if this bill becomes law.

Today Pete Hegseth asked the Senate for an additional $87,600,000,000 for the Pentagon, claiming the Iran war means the military needs this money, despite their trillion dollar budget. Remember, the Pentagon has never passed an audit.

House Republicans are trying to pull one over on the American people. Today, the GOP is forcing a vote on what they're calling an “insider trading” bill that DOES NOT ban congressional stock trading, and has SAVE Act-style voter suppression measures in it to sabotage mail-in voting.

Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump must be transparent with the American people about the cost—in blood and billions of dollars—of this war.  Our brave troops are paying for it. They are at risk every day. Let's end this war and bring our troops home.

Reps. Pramila Jayapal, Chris Deluzio, and Pat Ryan have introduced a bill to break up meat monopolies. Good. Right now, 4 meat processing corporations control 80% of the market, allowing them to squeeze customers and farmers alike. Minimal competition means maximal price gouging.

Workers' safety and dignity should not be negotiable—but this Administration is threatening hard-fought rights and protections on the job. Proud to stand with the workers in unions like the @steelworkers.bsky.social who are fighting back.
