Combed through my backups and with Claude’s help I assembled a single archive of my email, from 1992-present (except 95-97). 200k emails with a nice webui.
I have a 15 year old Entourage mailbox I want to export. Claude helpfully suggests a $29 utility. Me: Lets do a DIY exporter Less than 10min later: 22,000 messages in mbox format. Carving not parsing says Opus 5.
Little birb was dazed after hitting my window. Sat it back on the sill and hoped for the best. Took about 10min to reboot, flying away as though nothing happened.
So close to going to bed on time. Just before I fell asleep the power went out. And when it came on all the “smart” lights turned on, but I couldn’t turn them off. Home Assistant was offline. Claude code remote control session I had opened earlier to the rescue.
Working two jobs: telling claude to do something, cutting grass while it’s doing it. I’m exhausted.
You’re welcome future me. I just untangled a knot comprised of 43 random power supplies, sorting them into 12v and not-12v bags.

🤬 usb-c cables that aren’t full usb cables! 15” MBP would turn on but stopped at the empty battery display. Replaced battery and it still would not charge. Bought a new laptop. Dusted off 3 years later, same issue. Until I tried a different USB cable and the damn thing booted immediately. 🤬
"You got a dead drive spinning again — now we just let it bleed out its data." Opus being a little darkly poetic about retrieving data from a failing drive. (I smacked it with the palm of my hand to break the stiction that was causing it not to spin up.)

I was holding my breath as Fable read through some documentation that mentioned ssh tunnels.
We’ve received notice that the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. We'll begin restoring access tomorrow, and will share an update soon. We’re grateful to our users for their patience, and to everyone who worked with us on redeploying the models.

DIY espresso machine descaling solution: 2% citric acid solution. Less than $.50 per cleaning vs more than $9 for the commercial equivalent. Most listings for the commercial stuff proclaim their eco friendly bona fides, yet they are shipping mostly water packaged in plastic bottles. Sigh.

How’s my day off going? Woke up to no water pressure. A few hours later, water pressure is restored, but now I have very hot water flowing from my cold taps. 🤦♂️
