Seeing a lot of people talk about how Sixers don't have enough room under first apron to sign someone now. That's irrelevant. They *can* have enough room to sign someone if they waive Jabari Walker, who is only guaranteed $250k. Real reason to not sign Ben Simmons is he spent last year fishing lol.

I don't follow the farm system all that closely anymore. But I do know three things. 1) I don't believe in this Phillies core as a serious contender. 2) Everyone that I do trust loves Marquez as a prospect. 3) Rentals make my skin crawl.
It's been an honor to spend the last week hanging out with my guy @thebsline.bsky.social to break down what should be one of the most exciting Sixers seasons of our lifetime. If you missed any of the shows, you can find them here: www.youtube.com/@PHLY_Sports...

After signing LeBron James, everybody is talking Sixers. But, as is often the case when superstar teams are constructed, doubters have emerged. What concerns are legitimate, and what are BS? Breaking that down with special guest co-host @michaellevin.bsky.social NOW. youtube.com/live/BmG_EoR...

Updated my Sixers cap sheet to include the Broome trade / KCP signing. sixers.wiki/Salary+Cap+O...
The Philadelphia 76ers are trading C/F Johni Broome and a second-round pick to the Los Angeles Clippers for cash considerations, sources tell ESPN. The deal allows the 76ers to stay under both first and second aprons while signing LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Surprised at how much is being made over a report that Nick Nurse will have LeBron James play point guard. Yes, of course. That's why you get LeBron James.
Removed Dalen Terry from the cap sheet. Still one more move to go before KCP signing can fit under $209m hard cap. Jabari Walker is only non-gtd contract left. Trading Broome to a team that can absorb his contract, or stretching his contract, could get them under as well.
I've updated my Sixers cap sheet to include LeBron James (still weird to type) and KCP signings. Note that corresponding roster moves have to happen before those signings can take place, as Sixers need to clear space under the first apron hard cap to do so. sixers.wiki/Salary+Cap+O...

I still can't believe that Mike Muscala made those shots.

Schwarber couldn't get it out of the infield for the first 5 swings, but even so, it was never in doubt.
I need a scientific explanation for why we've never gotten a Taste of Lime scoops Tostitos.
@michaellevin.bsky.social still can't believe I wasn't invited to the LB reunion pod.
Jaylen Brown is very good, but the trade isn't without risk. With a weekend to process the move, I fired off a newsletter with rambling thoughts on why the Sixers were the right team to make that gamble. www.dailysix.com/the-jaylen-b...

The Sixers have announced their Summer League Roster.
Someone tell LeBron James that he has a chance to play with Wade and Love again. (h/t to PHLY diehard @abagorn.bsky.social, who I totally stole this bit from).
This will use up the remainder of the Sixers' MLE, pushing the Hukporti signing into the bi-annual exception. The Sixers now have $2.062m remaining on the bi-annual, and a $4.2 million trade exception, at their disposal if they wish. They are $4.3 million below the hard cap.
Just in: Free agent guard Anfernee Simons has agreed to a two-year, $12.3 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, with a player option in second season, sources tell ESPN. Simons chose the 76ers over other suitors believing his fit is perfect with the revamped 76ers roster.
