Today's #wildflower: meadow phlox. Its root system lets it spread wherever it wants, so gardeners who decide to transplant this wildflower should watch and thin. It is liked by pollinators such as butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds.

I was dxed with high-grade ovarian cancer, stage 3c, back in 2012. I shouldn't be alive now, but I am. And I'm so happy to hear that this theory has been proven. If you have a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation, you might not need a full hysterectomy for preventive care. Yay!

Nearly all ovarian cancers, including most fatal forms, start in the fallopian tubes. The good news is that tubal removal offers effective prevention, though it does affect fertility. How do we know this? A curious Dutch PhD student and “a lot of science”. Keep funding research! 🎁🔗

This is something I teach students, family members, etc. "Does this reasoning even hold up?" "Does that make sense?" Asking these questions is a different, more complete way of thinking. As I learned as a journalist: If your mother says she loves you, check it out. Read the whole thread.

5/ Here’s the fix, and it’s two moves. One, narrative monitoring: track the whole story as it shifts, not just one claim. Two, argument checking. Instead of asking ‘is this true,’ you ask ‘does this reasoning even hold up?’ Go after the logic, not just the facts.
