new cast member: Vanta. Very Serious and Completely Original Vigilante. Her entire job is to hide in the shadows in a world where the sun keeps coming out, and her dramatic cape is a few inches too long. Enjoys the occasional late-night Krispy Creme cruller.

A tall, dark, slightly severe-looking bat lady in an oversized cape, and a costume not at all reminiscent of some other bat-themed hero. She looks preemptively annoyed.

finally, I get to introduce this guy from later in the narrative :D at some point, the city decides Thorn needs supervis- er, help. so they assign him a nice, fully-approved, younger, more competent, not-at-all-humiliating partner named Aegis.
