I assume a lot of dudes join these forces because they want to be a warrior, and they just bury deep in their psyches the obvious contradiction of being a warrior and their actual day-to-day of deporting working dads and shooting unarmed mothers in the face with "less lethal" mortar rounds.

This will keep happening as long as we have forces deployed to our cities with orders and attitudes to treat American citizens as enemy combatants for filming, protesting, or even being annoying pains in the ass making agents’ jobs harder

I was at MANY of these stops. Here’s what would happen: the agents would stand guard at the cars, Bovino would literally pose out front while people yelled at him. It was a pathetic, obvious attempt to antagonize neighbors - they transited three gas stations and did the exact same thing thrice.

It’s worth considering that an overnight dismantling of ICE in 2029 would release into the wild a whole herd of specialists in violence with scant other marketable skills.

There’s a lot of truth in “establishment Dems” having some different out of date priorities than much of the base now. But I’d bet a ton ICE funding is slashed under any future Dem admin.
