Author, Artist, basically square in A.I.'s gun sights. Seattle & New York sports fan. He/him on most days Sentient goo on the rest.

Hey, #MetsSky! If you have the ability, I highly recommend listening to the Audacity #Mets radio feed with tonight's game. Laura is back filling in for Pat McCarthy, and she was a fantastic listen last night. (on the MLB app, select "Audacy" under "Broadcast Options")

I have breaking news! No idea how it happened, but David Stearns has somehow traded the 't' in #Mets to the Seattle Mariners for their second 's'! Moving forward, the two teams will be known as the Seattle "Marinert" and the New York "Mess"!

"Ya gotta Believe!" OK. I believe the #Mets will finish dead last. Not just in the NL East, but in all of MLB. I believe we will finish in the same spot NEXT year. Why? Because our 'president of BB ops' is a drooling idiot who thinks baseball is played with a bloody spreadsheet.

Howie Rose via the #Mets audio stream (Not word for word here): 'Since 'Run Prevention' became the focus of this team, they can't play defense.' Yup. Exactly right. Plus, they're so busy trying to figure out how to play defense, they have no time to figure out how to hit either.

Unfortunately, there is. Baty isn't a 2nd baseman. As we just saw. Of course, Bichette isn'tT a 3rd baseman. If they want to showcase these guys? Give Lindor a break put Bichette at SS (his natural spot), Baty back at 3rd, etc. Not that it'll happen, because 'the spreadsheet is never wrong...'

Totally serious question: Is there any reason at all to play Semien the rest of the season? Should be Baty for the next two months. Last chance to do something regularly. #Mets. Instead, a rapidly declining veteran who is about to drop below the Mendoza line plays most days.

Comparing -any- pitcher who lives or dies on the edges of the strike zone's work 2025 to 2026 is eye opening. Why is Peralta suddenly awful? He has to be ACTUALLY accurate, instead of just KINDA accurate.

Watching this SNY rain delay recap of Game 161 reminds me that the goal of a baseball owner is not to win the World Series but to entertain your fans. The Mets letting go of so many absolutely beloved players on that team is just a huge failure. @mets.com #Mets

Suffering thought the homerun derby on @netflix.com and I gotta be honest, all the drone camera shots are making me motion sick. Or maybe it's just the lack of excitement in the event itself. Regardless of what the MLB Network crew thinks, this is BORING.

Folks, when people say Stearns isn't the problem, THIS is the sign I will be pointing to. Not only is he paying double for nuthin, ASSUMING all three are ever simultaneously healthy again, he's choking a third of his lineup potential to do it.

TheSportGenius on X tweeted this: David Stearns paying: $65 million for Semien/Robert/Polanco .210 12HR 40RBI combined But wouldn't pay $30 for Pete Alonso: .253 21HR 65RBI all by himself Baltimore is 3 games out of the WC... #Mets are 5 games out of last place in all of MLB

A forty minute delay in the start of the game because nobody in Boston has ever heard of contingency planning? Y'all had twelve+ hours to make a 2-hour flight. This game should have started on time or been forfeit. If #MLB decided this, way to keep your thumb on the scale.

You know those #MLB owner propaganda ads they've been running, saying that the teams with the highest payrolls are all dominating the league? Well, #Mets fans would like a word...

I am -HONESTLY- shocked that game didn't end with Keith and/or Pat saying "I need an effin DRINK! (of soda, or tea, or fruit juice, of course) 😉 "

We're in an (entirely predictable) rain delay, SO! What's your least popular, but firmly (and privately) held take on the #Mets? Mine? Baty and Vientos are not bad players. They're just not good together on the same side of the infield, and that's in their heads, affecting them at the plate.

Scathingly accurate. You do not "prevent runs" with an infield that is nearly entirely out of their natural positions. Nor do you replace run creation with aging power players made of spun sugar and glass. ...and don't get me started on the pitching rotation. sny.tv/articles/met...

Grading the Mets halfway through the 2026 MLB season, including manager and front office

As the Mets start the second half of the 2026 season, here are grades for key players, Carlos Mendoza and David Stearns after a disappointing first half.

I feel bad for Howie Rose. Here's a guy who grew up a #Mets fan, got to live his dream of being a broadcaster for the team he loved. He has been loyal to this franchise through thick and thin for nearly 40 years, beloved by fans. He's riding off into retirement - and this is the thanks he gets.

See, THIS is why I keep tapping the "Fire Mendoza & Stearns" sign. You've got players out of their natural positions for whatever reasons and it IS CLEARLY NOT WORKING. But they can't admit it. Hence, fire them. Come on, #Mets figure it out.

Is it not obvious to everyone except the #Mets that Baty should be at 3B and Bichette should be at 2B? They could have 1 guy playing unfamiliar position and 1 guy playing the position he's played for his entire career. Instead they're having both guys play unfamiliar positions. Make it make sense.
