Literally the point of taxes, you fucking morons. I don't personally use the defense budget. I don't personally attend elementary school. I haven't even used 99% of roads in the city where I grew up. That's how taxes work. Seriously, are the rich just fucking stupid or they think everyone else is?

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

France should be mad about these wildfires, but this is a global problem. Wildfires like this have been ravaging many parts of the world for decades. It's time for a global solution to climate change instead of a piecemeal nation by nation one. Take your righteous anger and point it toward that goal

Hopefully this is Seattle's wake up call to stop trusting Dan Strauss. Honestly, a Ballard republican would at least be predictable instead of this. Opposing progressivism only to change your mind & take a victory lap is nothing but exhausting for the people affected & it has been his MO for years.

WOW. New announcement from Seattle CMs Strauss, Hollingsworth, and Foster saying they will fund universal school meals starting in the fall after all by using the general fund. Hard to see this as anything but a realization of the high political price they paid for their votes yesterday.

Any time a politician keeps poor people from accessing a universal service bc "rich people will also use it" that's anti-poor classist behavior. That false concern masks a real sentiment thet basic things like food or shelter aren't rights but rather privileges, perpetuated always by the ultra rich

Means testing is a classic democrat move. Using it as the way to close a door to poor people is perfectly republican. That's your city council, Seattle. No party of the left. No party of the people. All kids deserve free food. It's pretty fucking simple.

Like, I get this excites Euro-obsessed soccer bros from Kansas City, but I do truly hope that Poch feels no love from Seattle over this. USMNT never plays in Seattle, despite literally always winning, and you can't even let us see one of our own on the home pitch tihs one time.

Wow such a dick move. Crybaby Reyna gets it over a guy that bleeds for this city. Doesn't even get 30 seconds.

If Cristian Roldan plays today (tonight for me), he's gonna score a goal and Lumen will stand, at that moment, as the loudest stadium, the loudest crowd, of this whole World Cup. He did it for us in the CWC. I feel it for today too. Let him play.

I know I'm just bragging at this point, but recently I was saying I don't even consider painted bike lanes as bike lanes anymore b/c there are so many elevated or concrete protected ones in my city now. It's all political will. The change starts at the ballot box.

You can put as many Class 3 bike routes, or gutter/door Class 2 bike lanes (see below) as "existing bicycle facilities" on your map as you want. Normal people who *do not want to die* will look at real world version of the city and say, "fuck no."

Devin was born legally blind w/ Nystagmus, but he didn't fully embrace his disability until his late-20's. Then he jumped right into advocacy inside & outside of city hall. Full episode below ⤵️ Help us grow. Please like, share + subscribe! www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKQj...

Coexist LWB stepping from behind the curtain to show they're all elderly wealthy white homeowners. Is anyone at all surprised? Bruce Harrell & his SDOT let this astroturf group squander funding for a safe walking + biking promenade on LWB. They used cynical, unethical lies to keep this road unsafe.
