Apparently there were tornado sirens here last weekend while we were in Chicago!! I’m glad we missed those! Lots of flooding around here too but we’be been lucky and haven’t had any issues *knocks on wood*
The main thing we want to do before moving into the house is replacing some old carpet. It’s only on the top level and one of the bonus rooms so not a ton. My parents have generously offered to help pay for it as a housewarming gift. Probably going to match the hardwood on the main level
Good news: my dad testing negative yesterday! I took a test out of caution and was also negative Bad news: my mom doesn’t seem to be taking it very seriously that she needs to avoid getting dad sick. I told her to wear a mask around him and she said “I’ll try” GIRL

Cases always peak in August, this is when I caught it a couple years ago

Chicago vacation thread! Day 1 part 1: Chicago art institute
As much as I’d love to pop by mitsuwa before we leave, its almost an hour out of our way and adds that time to our drive back so I think we’re just gonna head home
We’re heading home today from Chicago. This felt like the first real vacation I’ve had in many years and it was awesome. My legs hurt so bad from all the walking but worth it! I’ll share photos when I get home and have better internet

Went to the house after work to make sure no flooding had happened and everything was good!! Surprisingly Isolde was more anxious about this than I was!

We want to get a backup battery for the sump pump but for now we’re jus gonna be anxious 😅
Zelda switch 2 leaked, I’m no longer upset I won’t be able to afford a switch 2 before the price increases next month. Now will I actually be able to get one??

I realized I haven’t talked about this yet but the house has 2 bonus rooms. This basement room is going to be my craft/sewing room. It’s L shaped so a little tricky to get pictures of. I’m very excited to make it mine!!
We mowed the lawn of our new house for the first time and wooof. We definitely let the grass grow too long so it was a struggle. Also not smart to go right in the middle of the day… it was high 80’s outside 😬 we’re learning!
Can’t believe it’s already that time but we’ll be in Chicago starting next Thursday for the Pokémon Fossil exhibit!! I haven’t been to downtown Chicago since I was a teenager so I’m very excited!! Hopefully our ventra cards will arrive soon!! AHHH

Repost a game you love that got too much hate This game definitely has it faults but people were SO angry about this game because it didn’t follow the formula of the first 3 games. Never understood the hate for it, I loved how Walter was connected to a newspaper clipping in the second game
