This race wouldn’t be competitive, but the Joe Manchin backed independent is already polling at 10% because the voters don’t like either candidate that much. If Bohannan can’t find an identity beyond lame Democrat MMM could drive her unfavorables up just enough to hang on again by a slim margin.

Rob Sand has been saying for awhile that Republicans will definitely control the legislature next year when he’s governor. Here the legislative Democrats concede that they aren’t even trying to win a majority in either chamber.

Rob Sand on taxes, great question from @LauraRBelin on the looming disaster of a constitutional amendment on the ballot this November. Sand says he hasn’t read it, but he has thought about and released plans for both tax increases in some cases and credits in others.

Candidates and it’s basically season 1 of Heroes except about a cross section of random relatable people/stereotypes who stumble into running for office all at once instead of superpowers
If Iowa was the local food capital of the world - anywhere in the state you can find groceries or a delicious meal with healthy local ingredients - the tourism and population growth alone would power growth in the state while making sure it is spread around.

Long has been clear that the obsession with the Caucus has been dragging Democrats in the state down. But to be fair to them they are also not for many good policies.
