#MythAugust The gods certainly have their factions. MC book 1 was mostly against them all, but since her revival has started a new path. That'll bring her to face the Others and attempt to reconsile. Standard angel/demon type celestials as well, and they really hate each other heh.

Character reference for Arsolvet the blood god in her true physical form, along with three variations of her favorite human form. Her true form stands around nine feet tall. Horned head, four glowing eyes, lip-less mouth of sharp teeth. Her skin is semi-transparent red that appears to move and flow like a pool of thick blood. On her neck, back and shoulders down to her ribs, as well as forearm and foreleg are dark red growths with spikes. Her human form is a red-headed woman standing around five foot eight, green eyes, sun-bronzed skin coloration. The three forms are nude reference, leather travel armor, and formal white dress.Brown eyed human standing in plain clothes with an ominous shadow resembling his true form. Father to the main character in book 2. Survived a brutal attack on their caravan over the mountains, saved by a mixed town of farmers. The farmers adopted him and his wife, who soon gave birth to the main character.
Mother to the main character in book 2, and quite a loving and absolutely normal human! Survived a brutal attack on her caravan over the mountains, saved by a mixed town of farmers, and raised her son. She stands in a respectful pose with a dark blue work dress, brown boots and bracers. Red-orange hair with a ponytail over her right shoulder. Her blue eyes are very kind. Her shadow stretches off into the background as a sinister and massive non-descript demonic form with several glowing eyes.

#MythAugust 4 Today, tell me about the different factions among your gods/spirits. Think like the Æsir & Vanir in Norse mythology, or angels & demons in Christianity. What's their relationship? Are they sworn enemies? Sometimes allies? Interpret the question however makes sense for your story!

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 4:
Are there different factions among your deities? If so, what is their relationship to each other?

#AnthropologyAugust Ah fun question! Another area I haven't worked on too much, but as it related to the species I *have* mentioned so far, humans are nearly the smallest, but this goes to the Daggerspine. Daggerspine are large wolf/hyena with thick tucks and vertebral spines. They are intelligent!

MYSTIC@mystic888wizard.bsky.social · 2d ago

#AnthropologyAugust Once again doing the opposite, we just talked about the largest intelligent species, now what is the smallest? Does your setting have goblins or gnomes? Or does it have even smaller creatures like bugs or fairies? Does their size affect their interactions with other species?

#AugustWorldbuilders Ahh yeah-I'm not sure there will ever be a system that would be able to escape even a little bit of ego and pride between peer groups, but for mine it'll be closely watched and refocused into cooperative challenges for mutual benefit by the instructors.

#AugustWorldbuilders, hey there friends! What is the general vibe like at your world's school? Are the students polite and mature? Are there bullying problems? Do they do a lot of group work or is it more focused on individual study?

#AnthropologyAugust Oh yeah, certainly will be the dragons. Some celestials are titanic, but that doesn't quite count heh. Biologically and naturally, that'll fall to the Nation of Dragons!

Arnkit, full name Arnkit'atla-husfrey'irkir, is the matron dragon of the Forest Flight of the Crulean Crest Tropics, lifemate to Verthrik, mother to four hatchlings: Smara-kogur, Vred'tiss, Herinn, and Kyrvat. She is a large green dragon standing several human lenghts tall, and has a large green crystal floating above her claws. Thicker brown plates run from her forehead down her tail that also supports a large retractable fin like sail that stands a few feed above each plate. She is an envoy of the Dragon Nation to the city of Alabandrin.

#AnthropologyAugust We have talked about the rarest, and the most plentiful but now let’s talk about the biggest. Do you have any intelligent species that could be considered megafauna? Or even larger that might be kaiju sized? #promptgame #prompt #writesky #writingcomunity

What is the largest intelligent species in your setting?

#AugustWorldBuilders Absolutely profession focused education system. From the city guard military academy to the academics, its all about supporting your future with a specific focus in your strengths and interests for a career. Like my book 2 MC, no harm in switching to find what works heh.

#MythAugust This is the start of my first book: blood god Arsolvet was THE terror of the world until her defeat. After re-solidifying her shattered mind, she started to understand things in a new way. Her morality had shifted. It isn't going to be easy to deal with her blood soaked past.

Concept art piece. A large orb of blood hovers above the dias in the center of a ruined circular room. Broken stone tablets and iron chains litter the ground around the dias. The room is lit by a couple of wall mounted torches crafted in the shape of some horned horror. The blood orb radiates a dim red light, and the spiked humanoid form of the blood god is barely visible inside.
🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · 3d ago

#MythAugust 3 What kind of moral code do your fantasy gods or spirits follow, if any? Do they share similar moral values to the people, or is their sense of morality completely alien? Do they even do "morality" at all? As usual, interpret as you wish and don't forget to interact with others! ☺️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 3:
How does your deities' sense of morality align with that of people? I.e. are they moral, immoral, amoral, a mix...?

#MythAugust Welp, my book 1 #SongOfTheDevilstorm is all about the blood god Arsolvet as the main character heh, who also starts off by anointing an Avatar: Marfon. Celestials of many kinds also exist, but a major player in this book will be the Goddess Limnara (of light, goodness, all that heh).

Blue eyes, dark brown hair, light skin. Additionally showing the seed of living armor gifted to him by the blood god. Once implanted, it grows over his body in a dark viscous material that eventually grows armor. Early stages of armor are small crimson scales. Later stages cover his entire body with larger crimson scales. Late stage also begins to change his anatomy, seen externally in his augmented compound eyes. Marfon is the Avatar of the blood god Arsolvet. He enters book 1 as an old man tracking down a death cult, meeting the blood god for the first time after that fight.

#MythAugust Day 2 Tell us about the major god(s) or spirit(s) in your fantasy religion! This is meant to be a broad overview - we'll have focused questions for specific gods later! Feel free to interpret the question as loosely as you need to if you aren't working with a traditional pantheon 😁

#AnthropologyAugust For Book 1 of my #SongOfTheDevilstorm, its in the city of Alabandrin so while its a majority human region, this is a very mixed place. Dozens of other races, and even the Nation of Dragons have an envoy who also sits on the city council. ...I need to do a census lol!

MYSTIC@mystic888wizard.bsky.social · 4d ago

#AnthropologyAugust Ok let’s get this going with day 1! What is the most common intelligent sapient species in your fantasy world? That can either be the one with the highest population, or just the one that is spread around the most. What makes them so common? #writesky #promptgame #prompt

#AugustWorldbuilders My MC in book 2 will be joinin an academy late in early life, but typical subjects (city finances, common knowledge reinforcement on crops/regions/etc), as well as essence focus/development (magic) and all related core knowledge on its topic. #SongOfTheDevilstorm

#JulyWorldBuilders Alright, another month begins!! Typical fantasy low-tech medieval for mine, mostly. This will depend on species, and many will have culturally significant pieces. Ascenris (centaur-ish) typically will use work harnesses. Dragons will have crystal centric adornments.

She is an Ascenris, centaur type creature based on a panther instead of a horse. Minimized feline features in torso and head, though still has a short snout, fangs, ears, and toe beans on all six limbs. Hands are humanoid/cat hybrid, four mobility limbs are more aligned with true panthers. She has flowing red hair against her coal black fur, which also has a skin pattern akin to panthers that can be seen with infrared light. Brilliant amber eyes with flecks of blue/teal. The quad reference shows her in different clothing, from formal dress, cargo setup, casual work, and full plate armor.Brown eyed human standing in plain clothes with an ominous shadow resembling his true form.
