Does anyone know any examples of academic books or articles in which the author(s) call out other contemporary scholars as racist by name? I just read one and I'm pretty sure it's the first I've ever seen. It must be quite rare, but I'm curious to see other examples.

Like many of you, I've been trying to make sense of the election's results. Browsing the shifts in demographic support for Trump vs. the Dem candidate in recent election years, one outcome has thoroughly flummoxed me. (thread)

A close friend told me today that she is not voting bc she is a "conscientious non-voter," and declined to elaborate further. And she's far from the only one. Does fault for this position lie with the individual or our political class? Or perhaps both?

The rhetoric of "weird" is interesting in that it highlights what's (a)typical rather than right or wrong. History shows that many Americans would rather be wrong, evil, and/or racist than "weird."

I am distraught at the news of Steve Albini's death. In addition to engineering some of the most influential rock records of the 80s and 90s, he fronted one of the greatest noise-rock bands of all time, Shellac. But this thread isn't about any of that. (1/x)
