Gradually, the play of the American administration is becoming clear. The Greenland strategy is only meant to break up the European Union. The support for the radical right was a first step to do this. The flip-flop on Ukraine fits this strategy. And now Greenland. More EU is desperately needed.

Does the EU have baby leverage in discussions with the US? Maybe the EU should oblige European pension funds to disinvest from the US stock markets? Drop Blackrock and other such institutions in coordinating EU funds? That may help.

The Dutch and the US have working for years on stopping drug boats coming from Venezuela. Thousands of kilos of drugs have been intercepted by the Dutch authorities. The persons apprehended by the Dutch were delivered to the Americans for justice. -/--

Have the American policymakers gone totally mad? Capturing an active president, how illegal this president may be, is totally unacceptable. The precedent is sets, is unbelievable. For the same reasons, the Canadian prime minister can be kidnapped. -/--

Avoiding an AI bubble requires human centricity. NVIDIA tries to convince the market that the AI revolution is far from finished. I guess that if I had a quasi monopoly in my market, I would contend the same. However, the LLM revolution is showing cracks. -/-

The US Administration says it has not decided to go all in on attacking the Islamic Republic of Iran. This is portrayed as strategic behaviour. However, the Israelis supply of weapons will run out soon. When that happens, the decision to defend Israel has already been taken. -/--

Are American manufacturing jobs coming back? Obama 2= 399.000 manufacturing jobs created; Trump 1 = 160.000 manufacturing jobs destroyed; Biden 1 = 541.000 jobs created; Trump 2 after 4 months: 4.000 jobs created. Estimate for Trump 2 = 48.000 created?

DOGE will remain after Musk leaves. This means that the US will operate under chaos. Managing the public sector requires different approaches. Many systems were developed over time. E.g. zero based budgetting was a technique to give some rationale to down-sizing. ../..

The only thing that tariffs will bring to the US are robots. Most of the robots will come from outside of rhe US. Even with tariffs, these robots will remain competitive to expensive blue collars jobs. -/--

Tariffs make the US administration blind for reality. The Netherlands gets sanctioned for having a trade deficit with the US. This deficit exists since decades and has only grown. The Dutch government should forbid ASML to send machines to the US. Agree? To keep some sane logic. See #DeVolkskrant

Two strange mistakes when thinking of tariffs as a means to make your country great again. The first is that you cannot divide more gains by making the total cake smaller. You may get a bigger slice of this cake, by being a serious bully. But your slice is going to be smaller. And, second, most -/-

Just don't know what the US republicans are thinking. Even if new jobs may be created by tariffs, this will not be blue collar jobs. It will be jobs that cater to highly educated groups. Probably jobs that have a democratic leaning? Oh yes. Make America Think Again?

Another prediction. Trump will impose tariffs, even if everyone says this is plain stupidity if you want to reduce inflation. My prediction: as Erdoğan did in Turkey, Trump will start forbidding any economic statistics on inflation. Let us see. edition.cnn.com/2025/03/03/e...

The health of the US economy is looking less and less stable by the day.
